It's the WAY Dallas plays....... Or whatever one would call the Sunday displays.

We could've/should've beaten most those teams except we found ways to lose. Found ways to lose. Been doing it very well for several years.

Had a shot with a bye and home field advantage and found a way to lose. Stupid, drive killing penalties. Drops. Shortened routes.

Better than average athletically. Straight up. Hands down, zero argument, IMO.

Dumber than most mentally. Consistently.

CULTURE.

Absolutely phenomenal post. Spot on. :hammer:

ok, what is your point?

that we have a mediocre team capable of sneaking in the playoffs?

we beat the teams we should have beat, and lost to the teams we should have

lost to. We might sneak into the playoffs, and beat a couple teams we shouldn't

have beaten, who knows

That is exactly the point.

People won't get so up in arms when we WIN a game if they accept that this team isn't good enough to win alot of games. We're a middle of the road team. And we should all be happy that even win any games at all.

do you analyze your own personal flaws this harshly?

do you live in reality? which team did dallas lose to this year that is just untenable?

Lighten up Francis, I think they're every bit as average as you do.

this isn't the olympics. there is no 10 point scale, just wins and losses.

Yeah, 5 of each.

The very definition of mediocre.

Really?

No one thought that before the year. Only 16.5% of posters thought we were an 8-8 or worse team. (And a couple of those are trolls.)

Curse you for bringing reality into this!

Your are supposed to lower your expectations accordingly, despite this team's talent level compared to other 'average teams'.

To do otherwise would insinuate that this team is underachieving or that the coaching staff isn't doing a good enough job - strictly forbidden!

Losses to 6 win and undefeated at home Seattle.
to 7 win Chicago
to 8 win BMore
to 9 win ATL
to 6 win Giants

So not a single loss to a team .500 or under. ZERO, NONE, ZILCH.

Wins versus:
6 win Giants
6 win Bucs
2 win Carolina ((((we did not play a single team that is at or below .500 right now until week 7 of this season))))
3 win Philly
2 win CLE

So not a single win to a team better than 6-4.

That is about as clear a picture as you can have painted for you of where this team is.

I think we should not think Chicago should beat us at home. Other than week 1 vs the Giants I have been misreable for every win this team has had and that game was in doubt until the last completion! Every win was in doubt in the 4th quarter and most have gone down to the last drive. I realize most games in a parity driven NFL are close, but even in wins vs Tampa, Carolina and Cleveland I came away feeling "whatever." Until this team builds itself from the line out, especially o line, this is an average football team.

Lets be happy we couldn't **** for a year. Finally we made it to the crapper.........and farted. Thank God for that, huh?

I've read nothing sillier. EVER.

Did you open the link? ~60% thought this was a 10-6 or 9-7 team, even without the injury toll. That's basically what we're looking at when you take the current 500 club and project the rest of the season given the strength of the remaining schedule.

Not to mention that there are probably 31 other NFL cities where polls like this skew positively for expectations before the season starts.

And I have no problem with 60% being positive, they have that right.

But to turn around and try to chastise folks for daring to be disappointed with the mediocrity they get?

I find that unacceptable.

I expect better than what I'm getting and am not about to apologize for it.

That's the problem. High expectations. We're not that good. We were never that good. Because most believed this team was actually better than average is why most people are pissy when we actually win a game.

No, what you wrote is much sillier.

I pretty much agree that people place these great expectation because of the uniform they wear as if it is a given. It is not, this team is not as great as some will claim but they are not as bad as some claim either.

There is some good talent on this team how the remaider of the season will play out we will see. To claim they are going no where is about as lame as claiming they will go to the SB. This team has shown how good they can be they have also shown how poor they can be.

They have the remainder of the season to get it together

This might hold true if we had never seen otherwise.

The trouble is we have.

We've seen this team be great, albeit in short fits and starts, but it's there.

The fact of the matter is what we have are underachievers, for whatever many reasons people would care to name.

This team has shown they're capable of better, that's why people are so frustrated.

you picked 9-7.

so when dallas reaches that mark is it still utter failure?

they are at .500 and have played one of the toughest schedules in football to this point and sit 1 game away from pace for your prediction.

CULTURE.

Bingo.

We have a culture that consists of the wrong kind of guys at the top, calling the shots. If we fix that, we're 7-3 right now. With Opie as our coach, we're 5-5.

No doubt our coach has cost us several games this season as well as last season. Pump all the sunshine you want, that is unacceptable.

Unacceptable.

That the team is making progress and no longer losing to teams we should beat like years prior.

We should have beaten the Ravens, but we lost due to terrible clock/game management. We could have beaten the Giants in the second game, but we lost largely due to being utterly unprepared and clueless in the first half--but still had a chance to win it in the end only to inexplicably throw it three times in a row after having a second and one in the red zone.

I'd say there is plenty to whine about.

It was indeed a silly analogy, only to be topped by yours.

My point, actually.

Happy that we win any games at all................... :lmao2:

You forgot spotting the seahags points and letting the falcons have the win.

The thing that bugs me the most tho.........Homefield advantage means nothing to this team.
