I first want to summon AdamJT to the stand to help with some of these cap figues but I really think that the Cowboys will so some things in the next two weeks that may surprise. They have a few players that I think they will release in order to free up some cap space and sign a couple of FA.

Here are Five potential releases of players I think are on the bubble of returning next season. This does not include young players with low salaries like a Courtney Brown or Isiah Stanbeck but veterens who need to be replaced with younger/better players.

1. SS Roy Williams...I do believe his cap is about $4mil and they can definitely get better value for that number. I honestly dont see him returning.
2. LB Zach Thomas....I know his cap number is not huge but he's gone.
3. LB Greg Ellis....I believe his cap is about $4 million but I think he could be release in hopes of saving money and letting Spencer get on the field. Peppers would be a great replacement.
4. CB Anthony Henry...Yes i know he can still play but the Cowboys are paying him $5million in his last year and they have two young capable CBs who can replace him.
5. LT Flozell Adams...This is just a hope but I am sure they could get a first or very high second for Flo. Yes I know they just signed him to a big contract but it is time to move on. Take the salary cap hit and move on. I rather have T.O. than Flo!

As far as who they will sign in Free Agency, I dont have a clue but I def could see Peppers and maybe a LB. But not Ray Lewis! Not a good fit and too old for the amount of money he wants!

Those players you just mentioned minus Flo would create about 12 million to the addition of the 10 million we currently have. Ware will get a majority of that..leaving room for Peppers and about 6-7 draft choices to help contribute. We are in pretty good shape

I don't agree with you on the Flozell statement at all. We don't have a better option at the moment, but if a LT in the drat beats him out in training camp then he'd take a backseat. I wouldn't cut him.

I agree you don't get rid of Flozell until we have a better option. FA LT's are very expensive and I'd rather not trust Romo's blindside to a rookie.

I agree. We currently have no replacement for Flo. You can't cut your LT in a SB year without a replacement. I have no problem with the others although I wouldn't cut Ellis without a replacement. And injury to Ware or Spencer without Ellis might be very bad.

I agree with the yeag

can't get rid of Flo until you have a replacement for him, I'd take advantage of the deep OT class, have the rook workout a couple years, and then have him take over for Flo
