Who were these people that used since primitive technology? What were their primitive lives like? Where did they go?

(Reuters) - Documentary filmmakers digging in a New Mexico landfill on Saturday unearthed hundreds of "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" cartridges, considered by some the worst video game ever made and blamed for contributing to the downfall of the video game industry in the 1980s.

Sounds like it was just cheaper to bury (illegally) rather than pay the increased landfill fees due to the physical components contained in a video game? Hazardous material or suttn?

"When the game was first released in 1982 it retailed for around $29.99, but now often sells on eBay for less than $5."

Wow, that is like $200 in today's money for a video game.........

OT: Crazy it as sounds, there was this game (Steel Battalion) that came out awhile back for the original XBOX that ran for something crazy expensive ($200) bc you had to buy this "odd" controller/cockpit to play it. I never played it but heard it about it and looked it up. The reviews said it wasn't even that great:confused:

I guess I'm fortunate that I never got into the current video game scene. My time is really more valuable than to spend hours playing. I must confess though, that I was addicted to "Ms.Pac Man" aways back, and finally found the secret to winning the game.....walk away from it, and throw the quarters in a coffee can. The only truly way to win is not to play.....sorta sounds like "Wargames" a little bit.
