That's a list of best available free agents. Not completely up to date but its recent.

According to these guys, Dallas has $12.1m in available capspace. A chunk of that will go to sign the draft class. It also appears to still have Zeke on the roster so the number is bigger in reality.

Same people say that "chunk" is $8.7m.

I'm not sure how accurate these numbers are or how good the list is. Based on what I have seen, its at least in the ballpark.

Realistically, Dallas has room to do more things in free agency. I strongly suspect the plan all along was to go BPA in the draft and then backfill needs with free agents. With all of the people freaking out that this or that wasn't addressed, free agency needs to be taken into account. Unlike most years, Dallas isn't up against the wall from a capspace perspective.

According to my roster list, they have 86 players. Of course 8 of those are the draft picks and not officially signed.
So they have 4 spots open, but could bring in 12 players as signed. Then release players as each draft pick is signed.

They have room to churn before the draft picks take up an official roster spot.

Add $2 million if you make the mistake of bringing Zeke back....

By rule Cowboys have to carry Zeke on their cap until June 1. So that 12 million will go up about $10 million (can't remember the exact number June 1 savings).

OTC has us at 12.1 currently, with 10.9 set to hit June 1 for the Zeke release, taking us to 23.
Draft picks will eat up some of that, though when we sign picks others may drop off our 51, so the hit is not necessarily as large as the $ amount of the signing. So that leaves us say 19-20 I would think.
We may spend sparingly in FA.

There are a few other potential areas to add some space.
Pollard could be signed to a longer term deal, freeing up some of his 10 mil hit (potentially 5-6 million could be opened).

Lewis could be released, which would free up almost 5.
I thought we would address CB earlier than we did, and that this would be more likely than it is now.
Plus there are still good CBs out there in FA, and likely more could be cut after the draft.
If you could sign a better player for 2, and release Lewis and save 5, wouldn't that make sense?

Gallimore is another potential cut. His hit is almost 3 mil, and if we think as little of him as we did towards the end of last season`, and could bring in a rook or even a low cost FA, wouldn't that make sense. Shelby Harris and Chris Wormly are still out there, and Mazi and Fohoko likely make the roster, perhaps making Gallimore expendable. I honestly would have rather cut Gallimore and kept Watkins, and that would have actually saves us 1.25 in cap space,

Armstrong could be released or extended, thereby lowering his number. (I doubt released, though Williams stepping up could affect that)

I've always felt the goal for this off season, with all the cap opening we did, was to allow for CeeDee and Diggs to be resigned, and I think we are in a position to do that now.

Give me Risner on a 2 year deal
That's kind of my thinking. Sign him now with the available capspace and then use Zeke's money in June to sign the rookie class. You would still have some money to get vet min players at some point if you want to.

If Dallas signs a guard of some quality, the perceptions of the draft probably change a lot.

With Zeke's CAP hit falling off in June, the available CAP space goes to $23M. Expect the Cowboys to try to sign Diggs to a long-term deal this summer or Fall. Also, if they can reach a long-term deal with Pollard before the Franchise Tag deadline, then his CAP hit in 2023 will also drop, giving the Cowboys more space.

#1 priority is kicker. Robbie Gould please.

I mistakenly did this math.

It's 8 million dollars when you add the 6 million in dead money to the 2 million.
Dead is dead money though.. No getting that back.. Even if he was resigned, the dead money and a 2 mil cap hit would still be savings over what we would have paid him this year. I just talking BS though. Really, we need all the extra cash to grab some more bodies on OL and use for Diggs.

Well, if that's what's left in the market then yuck. And there are those who say we can't sign anyone e because of Daks cap hit....these are essentially garbage. Tell me who you want out of this list that's worth anything and makes this team better

We probably redo Lamb or diggs or both.
And have room to redo next year for parsons

Do not re sign diggs. Did everyone already forget the playoff game when he refused to even try to tackle and couldn’t even get a pick which is supposed to be his specialty. Dudes gonna disappear totally as soon as he gets paid
