Sometimes I miss these days. The Cowboys were on the decline here in 1985, but they sure as hell brutalized Warren Moon. I wish we could do this to Tom Brady in week 1.
With the current makeup of this roster on the Offensive side of the ball, a dominant Defense is really the only way this team can be successful

Never happen. Brady flops like a fish out of water. And with the West Coast offense teams run mostly these days, 4 ints in a game is extremely unlikely to happen.
Even if they could do it, what's the point? Brady has been anointed the GOAT by just about everybody, can't take away the 7 rings he has and which I am confident in saying will never be equaled.
Cowboys, and everybody else, had their chances over the past 20 years and FAILED to stop Brady.
Time to quit obsessing over Brady and get on with life and NFL football...

Was he outside the tackle box?I'm watching them play the Vikings in 1977. Apparently rules for a safety were different. Fran Tarkenton intentionally grounded the ball to avoid a safety. Today that would be a safety.

Of course!!! However, if he was outside the tackle box n the ball crosses the LOS it's not a S. Also, if he's not under pressure and tosses the ball away it's not a S.LOL, you're going to confuse people.
I hear that brother except I miss those days a lot more than sometimes because we actually used high draft picks for the defense of line.
Back then defense started in the trenches and was a valuable commodity in Tom Landry's mind today it's just an afterthought in Jerry's mind.
I mean when you have the first and fifth pics from the 1974 draft and the second pick from the 75 draft along with another first round draft pick on your starting defensive line I would say you were heavily invested in pressuring the quarterback.
Geez has Jerry used a first round pick on a defensive tackle in the last say 25 years somebody clue me in maybe I'm just getting old but I'm having trouble remembering any.

I believe you are spot on brother .I think Russell Maryland in 1991. I could be wrong.
While most of the complaints over the years have been about the offense, especially the QB, it has been the defense that has fallen short of championship caliber in the playoffs, time and again.
How many times do we need to see 30+ scored against us (the Cowboys have NEVER won a playoff game when the opponent scored 30+), or have teams run all over the defense for 5 yards (or more) a pop, before we all recognize that screaming about the QB alone is ridiculous.
Every Cowboys SB champion had a top 10 defense. Those were not accidents. Even the GOAT Brady didn't drag mid-level or worse defenses to titles. He won a SB by putting up a whopping 13 points, and another with only 20. Brady actually lost a SB where he had over 500 yards and scored 33 points. Why? Because his defense didn't show up. But OMG, the GOAT! QBs don't win by themselves.![]()
Even then, the idea was to go up for Rocket.I believe you are spot on brother .
Unbelievable 30 plus years and we haven't had the sense to use a first-round draft pick on a defensive tackle.
And coincidentally we have not done anything in the playoffs after our super bowl run with Maryland in the '90s
