In other words, our window for a Super Bowl is the next 2/3 years under Dak's current deal. A deal that makes Dak the highest-paid player in the league. The windfall from Parsons' trade gives him a chance to justify Dak's contract by adding additional pieces that would put us closer to a Super Bowl. This is why I believe he is going to add at least one or two impact vets via trade or free agency. Why do you think he announced he is open for business? In short, Jerry is thinking that now is the time ............and frankly, the way Dak is playing, he could be right.

Brady was not an anomaly. This is the era of QBs playing until they’re 40. Flacco is 40. Eli retired at 39 due to benching. Peyton retired due to injury(s) at 39. Brees retired at 39 due to injury. Rivers, his last season was 39 but was open to playing well into his 40’s. Rodgers is 41.

Dak Prescott, unless a colossal injury cripples him, will 1000% sign an extension before the 2028 season. Currently only 32 years old, there is no reason for Jerry not to do it.

With the early revival of Dak this year, I think any thought of drafting one high went out the window. It would of taken an early injury(a la Burrow or Romo with his back) for the Front office to sort of change their tune.
 
I just can't see it right now....this offseason it might become a real possibility that Jerry goes the all in route and looks to use a couple of those upcoming picks. A team with 1 win through 4 weeks and giving up 30+ ppg creates an odd time to push all your chips in the middle after two pretty conservative offseasons. Dak is playing fantastic right now, but what you're essentially committing to is the idea that he can sustain that level of play and you can bring enough in to create a playoff caliber defense. Thats a pretty big risk....I'd wait until at least the Washington game in three weeks to reevaluate before considering any major moves.

It's a good theory but this was never planned. They tried their best, which wasn't very good, to sign Micah. Now Jerry would have you believe his plan is all coming together and that this was all done in order to surround Dak with talent. That's a false narrative. That may be the way it ends up working out, it's certainly the BS he's peddling, but it was never the Jones intent. They're a reactionary ownership with little to no foresight. And I'm sorry but buying into Jerry saying "he's open for business" is no different than buying into "we're all in" or "secret sauce". It's nothing more than hollow words from a hollow man.

^ Quarterbacks drafted since 46-year-old Jerry Jones bought the team. Anyone can mention the Johnny Manziels woulda, coulda, shouldas that did not happen. The above quarterbacks were drafted in real life. Logic dictates possibilities lean more heavily towards what he has done in the draft than what he might do.

Aikman was a no-brainer. Carter was completely on him. He did not even know what he might have with Prescott. And the big omission above is an undrafted Tony Romo, whom he was as devoted to as Aikman and still is to Prescott.

Nothing suggests a soon-to-be 83-year-old Jones will shift gears and invest first-rounders to replace Prescott while he is his starter on the roster. Could he do it? Sure. Occasionally, Jones has gone against his own grain and made atypical decisions. For example, he put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor.

Without Dak, this team is going nowhere. With Dak, they have the #1 offense in the NFL so far.
 
I guess Jerry didn't get the memo that defense wins championships (or at least helps tremendously)!! When yours is at #32, you ain't going nowhere!! smdh

This Team cant even sniff a NFCCG in 29 years.
Don't think with this horiffic defense the playoffs are even likely for the forseeable future.
SB and Cowboys should not be used in the same sentence.
If Dak wants a SB, he should request a trade.
