Interesting that folks are touting how Capers should be a consideration for HC next year, but I haven't seen it brought up that JG wanted him here to help Brian Stewart. Subtle things like this give me hope for JG's future here. Maybe he knows a thing or two after all...:cool:

Jason Garrett knows what he's doing, everyone.

I think Garrett struggles with play-calling and sometimes gets so lost in the detials that he gets out-schemed. But those are tactical flaws, not strategic.

As a HC, he'll need to be more strategic and less tactical. But this is what worries me about him being a HC and OC on the sidelines - that he'll get caught in the detail of calling plays and that this will hinder his leadership ability as HC.

This is why I hope Garrett does not have play-calling duties. Maybe for this season this is inevitable, but if he is the long-term HC for this team I sure hope he hires an OC of 2011 and beyond.

What if he gets Norv at OC and some how gets Dom Capers

that would be ideal but it aint gonna happen

what if Jason Garrett isn't a sucky play caller, he just doesn't run the ball because with our o-line we can't.....

Once this year is over and the football season will start up again (ie no lockout) The first thing the Cowboys need to do if they keep Garrett is hire a OC. I think it's foolish for a HC to also be a coordinator. It takes away from his real job.

I'm betting Norv won't be the Chargers HC next year. Sounds like a good pickup to me.

Why do people keep repeating this??? Norv just received an extension from notoriously cheap AJ Smith and the Spanos family. But more importantly, Norv is a *** in San Diego. They will not cut him if he has ONE losing season, not after all that he has achieved in the 3 previous seasons.

Besides, the Chargers are still in the hunt, and Norv's teams are usually late starters.

Because...

Norv->Head Coach = Crap;
Wade->Head Coach = Norv->Head Coach;

I'd be happy to take that bet. In fact I think its likely SD ends up making the playoffs again, if not winning the division outright.

They have one huge problem with that team, and it has little to do with Norv. The ST coach will be fired as soon as the season is over.

They arnt firing Norv.

This tells me you know nothing about the San Diego Chargers. Norv is as well regarded as Don Coryell right now. Norv is the only newly hired HC to win 3 straight division championships since Switzer did so in the 90's.

he also wanted Brad Johnson and Hudson Houck and preffered Felix Jones

And Wade badly wanted Dan Reeves.

This just shows both these coaches knew they weren't a good fit together and needed counterbalances except Jerry see that. He had his greater plan all along.

Jerry lost it all by hiring Garrett then Wade. That was a garbage move. Hopefully this off-season he hires a coach and then that coach makes his own hires.
