when no matter what u had confidence that we would hammer the ball and clock with that Oline from hell and Emmitt. We would play good enuff defense and close teams down in the 4th.We would use Troys precision accuracy only when needed.I want that again.I didnt appreciate it enuff when we had it.The Steelers are losing theres now.The "IT" factor. Can this team get "IT" an keep it consistently?I hope.

Yeah, you remember wrong. Cowboys passed at will at first and then pounded other team to submission. They were not run all the time team. ONce they got the lead, they would then pound the team with run.

Not even sure what you are talking about with that "IT" factor. Are you sure you know what you are talking about there?

Adding to the above, teams just can't run all the time now and win-- at least not to the extent that they can with passing.

"IT" is controlling the game and even when it got outta hand u knew that our playmakers would step up somewhere in a vital aspect of the game.Dude we pounded the ball like crazy.

I disagree pittsburgh did it the last few years only recently became a pass first team and its not working.

I think Pittsburgh and the Giants would disagree with you. They were very run-oriented teams.

They are run-oriented compared to other teams, but hardly as much as the '90s Cowboys were, which is what my point was.

Imagine a QB today winning 12 games in a season with the kind of stats Troy Aikman was putting up (a good game was going over 200 yards passing).

Ben Roethlisburger and Eli Manning...
Trent Dilfer in Baltimore

I used to hate Roethlisburger when he won that Super Bowl because he was barely even a bus driver that year. I don't know how many games he went like 12/15 for 135. He reminded me of Marty Brodeur...getting a shutout with 15 saves.:laugh2:

Can we stop with the 90's threads?

Different time, different league.

1992 Cowboys: 500 rushing attempts, 491 passing attempts
1993 Cowboys: 475 RA, 490 PA
1995 Cowboys: 495 RA, 494 PA
2007 Giants: 469 RA, 544 PA
2008 Steelers: 460 RA, 506 PA

Also, I was speaking to the league being a passing league since 2006, when illegal contact rules were emphasized.
