With all the hoopla, I think many people, at least I have, forgotten about all the new members of are coaching staff. I remember how excited I was to see a fresh new approach to our gameplay.

Hudson Houck/Skip Peete. Maybe we can actually run block consistently this year. In tandem of getting Felix Jones, and Marion Barber starting, we might actually have a running game this year. This offensive line is a year older, and a year more comfortable playing with each other. I think its the 3rd year we've had the exact same offensive line. I'm hoping that Skip Peete can help our running backs mature pretty quickly.

Dave Campo - Maybe Dave Campo will have us playing some bump and run... anything that isn't give the offense 10-15 yards every play. We finally have the secondary to do it. If our secondary isn't succesful this year, not only does campo have to go but so does stewart. We've added 3 good corners to the team. All of whom should be upgrades over Reeves.

Reggie Herring - I hope Herring can work with Carpenter as much as Zack Thomas. Hopefully Carpenter is still our future. Same with Spencer. Ware - James/Burnett - Carpenter - Spencer, is in our best interest.

Every position coach on defense is new with the exception of Dat Nguyen, and every offensive position coach is either new or in their second year. I think we've built a dream team on defense, I just hope the coaches can get them to where they need to be quickly.

Now onto wide receivers. I was dissapointed that we couldn't get Owens some help. But hopefully next year we can revamp our receiver corps just as we did our secondary this year. I wish we hadnt signed Crayton to a 4 year deal, but hopefully we still trade him to Miami next year.

Yet!

I think you are right. I, too, am very excited about the upcoming season and how the new coaching staff help the boys go deep into the playoffs.

Campo is the one I am most excited about.

I didnt hear any complaining about the run blocking when Marion Barber was in the game.

Maybe Julius just sucked.

Jerry said there was only one WR he thought was an upgrade over what we already had. Rumor is that it was Hardy and he didn't fall to us.

This was a very weak WR class. I just don't get this "we didn't draft any WR's" statement I saw last weekend and has carried over into this week.

That's b/c Marion's a bruiser-these guys can shed defenders.

It's not like every RB who's a non-bruiser sucks wind though-really, our OL had trouble run blocking, period-even Emmitt would have had trouble finding running lanes.

Jerry mentioned in an interview yesterday that it was Hardy.

not a Tech fan at all...but i did watch their games.....we got WR help for TO....his name is Danny Amendola....Trust me, you will be pleased with him and happy we signed him. All he does is find holes in the defense and catch the ball.

..alot of new coaches also means lack of continuity from the previous year, which isn't good.

And will require some time to see if the chemistry is there between everybody to at least build on last year or whether some areas are going to have to undergo alot of change with all the new coaches and how the players adapted to these new coaches.

I think we'll have some regression before we see forward progress..IMO.

It's going to take some time to see just how good these new coaches are.

Campo I don't worry about, but the others..?

We'll see.

There were a few games where Marion couldn't do anything. The last game of the season comes to mind. As well as the second half of the playoff game.

I wasn't just talking about the draft, guy. I would have liked to have seen us trade that 2nd round draft pick rather than reach on drafting yet another tight end that we didn't need. The 2nd round is too early for projects and I had wished we had learned our lesson.

I agree with the regression, but if you look at what we did on offense last year, almost the entire offense was new coaches. Its because we had the talent to make up for it. We regressed at the end of the year though, which is most surprising.

That is one of my biggest WOW's this off season.

We didn't need?

Project?

This has been pretty well covered the last week in interviews the reason why and when Burnett was drafted. Go back and read what Wade and Jerry have said. You will change your opinion. There is a reason we traded Fasano. This guys going to be a beast.
