Remember the Shockey/Witten/Cooley debates?

Really? Around circa '05-'07?
Ah, you're referring to the over-all debate as to who is the better TE. I was under the impression that you were making reference to something particular.

Was there ever really a debate? Or just fans backing up their respective tight ends?

That's kind of what I was thinking. Prior to injuries, one could have made an argument that Shockey and Cooley were at least equals. Witten has been very lucky in his career, as he's managed to avoid significant injuries; same can't be said for Shockey and Cooley.

Witten broke his nose earlier in his career, and has had his share of injuries. He mans up and deals with them.

Sorry, but breaking your nose is a little different than injuries to ankles, knees, wrists, etc... He's been very lucky to have not suffered anything significant of the sort. You can't just "man up" to a broken ankle.

It wasn't his nose, it was his jaw. He had it wired up and continued to play.

The Giants were lining up for a game winning FG and then they missed it :laugh1:

I watched it like 17 times in a row too funny

What about playing with your jaw wired shut? I would certainly consider that "significant". ;)

God, I hated both of those ******bags Cooley and Shockey.

Witten is a class act. Even if he wasn't a future HOFer, I'm still much happier with him on my team than those two *******es.

Whats the origin of this?

Giants vs. Seahawks, 2005. The Giants missed 3 consecutive field goal attempts - once in regulation and twice in overtime. Any single one of those three would have won the game.

Instead, the Seahawks drove downfield and made their field goal to win 24-21! Ahahahaha.
