Just saw on NFLN that the Falcons resigned Ra’Shede Hageman, which got me thinking of all the “guaranteed” stud prospects that are proclaimed every year leading up to the Draft.

Beyond Hageman, here are a few others I seem to remember:

DE Jordan Willis - Kansas State
DE Tanoh Kpassagnon Villanova
OT Bruce Campbell Maryland

What are some you remember?

Tank Caradine.

Given their pre-draft hype, & their selection on draft day, these guys were duds:
Justin Blackmon, Quinton Coples, Dion Jordan, Luke Joeckel, & Greg Robinson.

Already throwing dirt on Jordan Willis eh?

I don't know about "guaranteed stud", but when I was in my tape watching infancy, I was super high on Odigizuwa out of UCLA.

Larry English

Lawrence Jackson

Vernon Gholston

Kiper had Bruce Campbell rated as a top 10 pick.

He ended up going in the 4th round.

His career was derailed by injuries but his 4th round selection vs draft media projection of top 10 was comical.

Media like Kiper over-valued his combine and under-valued his game footage.

Jordon Willis was picked #73 in 2017. He played about 50% of his team's defensive snaps in 2018. That's not really bust territory.

I respect Mel bwcays he is the reason the draft is what it is today but by christ he needs to pack it in....

Tony Mandarich.

Drafted by the Packers second overall right after the Cowboys take a certain QB from UCLA by the name of Troy Aikman.

Mandarich was supposed to be the most dominant OT ever.

Andre Wadsworth and Steve Emtman.

Guaranteed stud defensive linemen like those are the reason all the talk about trading DeMarcus Lawrence for a draft pick made me laugh.

Quentin Coryatt. Actually had a decent career, was signed to offer sheet by someone but I dy matched it.
Injuries detailed his career sadly. .
Think he actually had a brief stint here...

Darrell Russell
Courtney Brown
Gerard Warren
Ryan Sims

DL bust more often than just about any position.....
