We laid a huge egg against the Green Bay Packers. We also went into that game with a lot of media love and we really lacked focus on the offensive side of the ball.

I hope we have learned a lesson from the past because it sure seems like we get a little too full of ourselves at times. We need to treat each game as if we are the underdog. And focus, focus, focus!

Football is an emotional game, if it wasn't I do not think we would love it so much.

I know most of the time people say, these guys are Pros and they don't need speeches or bulletin board material to get them up for a game but I no longer believe that. Just like any job, things can get mundane and feel like a rat race.

It seems that keeping a certain level of intensity is a major factor in winning a football game. They are human and outside of winning the genetic lottery, they are not much different than you or I and sometimes we all need some motivation to do our best.

They need to reach deep down and draw out that visceral passion and bring the lightening and thunder this Saturday.

The last big win we had before the Week 17 win was against New Orleans. We followed that up by beating our next two opponents by a combined 41-0.

Yep, they did not let up on their intensity. Lets hope they keep that going for 4 more games!

We may have beat the same team but this is a very different situation.

The last time we beat the Eagles, we got to play them six days later.

With their players saying we're scared of them, their staff members spitting on our logo, their coordinators saying they contained us in the second half, and their QB saying their offense had more mistakes than Dallas had defensive plays.

I say we'll be focused on the task at hand.

Dam, we are in their heads so bad. I have never heard this much jawing from a team that got ***** slapped up and down the field for 60 mins.

No, we went into Green Bay and their defense played lights out.

I remember the last time the Eagles were our nemesis. It was the first year Johnson took the Cowboys to the Super Bowl. They smoked Dallas early in the year at Philly, then lost the rematch at Texas Stadium. In the playoffs the #1 defense in the league put it to the birds on their way to a nineties dynasty. Let's hope history repeats itself.

Emotions do mean allot as long as you keep it under control, I have seen guys get so jacked up they do stupid things that cost their team. You can't have guys out there retaliating because the other guy said something or pushed you, all to often the refs catch the second guy not the 1st. Yes be emotional but keep your head in the game know your job and do it. Dumb will get you beat quicker than anything and when people emotions get the better of them that is when we tend to do stupid things.

...yes it might be an emotional game initially but the limbic system only provides a short-term impetus for performance...determination, focus, execution, competence, concentration and intelligence are the real requirements...players must be smart, keep their cool under duress...a smaller part of the game is physical than most think...
