Yesterday's injury to Ware reminded meof that Monday nighter in1996. Very scary and many were wondering if Emmitt's season/career were in jeopardy.

Yet all was well and Emmitt came back the next week. six days later vs the Giants, and missed no time due to his neck sprain.

Now Emmitt's toughness was/is legendary and it would be asking Ware a lot to play the next few weeks. But if anyone on this team approaches this level of tooughness it would be Ware or Witten.

I wouldn't hold it against him if he's shut down for the rest of the year, but I wouldn't be shocked if he attempts to come back Sat or vs the Skins.

Of course the fact he is gonna be ok is the most important factor.

Yup, that popped in my head as well... very scary indeed!

Now as far as shutting him down - I'm not a Dr., but if the pain is OK, is there any further damage that one could do to a sprained neck?

I don't want Ware to play, honestly. Sit Ware down so he can be ready to go against the swiss cheese offensive line of the Commanders, and get Victor Butler in there.

Primetime, big game, hostile crowd...perfect time for V-Butt to get his feet wet.

If there's little to no chance of reaggravating it is it worth the risk then?

All I know is Ware is going to try his darndest to make it Sat.

Absolutely. If he's good to go with a minimal chance of re-injury, then he should play.

I still stand by my statement that V-Butt needs more playing time.

Oh yeah no argument on Butler. Even if Ware plays keep on rotating Butler in whenever you can.

The reason why is because I think Butler could become a great asset in nickel downs next year, or as a possible replacement to Spencer in the event he decides to try his hand elsewhere.

When we put Butler in there yesterday, he generated instant pressure off the edge. I'm not saying he's better than Demarcus Ware because he definitely isn't, but once teams see the destructive ability of V-Butt, they'll start double/triple teaming him like they do Demarcus.

Ware's a freak. The fact that he can successfully still pressure the passer either with hits or his presence despite a double or triple team is scary.
