You don''t know that. You might THINK that would happen, but you don't know that.
Had the Cowboys went on to the SuperBowl...anything can happen!
Success breeds confidence...
We showed nothing to prove we were anywhere in their league from the "battle of the undefeated teams" in the regular season match except for a short lead in the 3rd quarter that quickly dissipated into a blowout on our own turf. We had them sweating for about 12 seconds.
I hate Eli with that constantly confused look on his 12 year old face, but the Giants definitely played the Pats quite solidly in that week 17 matchup. I don't think anyone can argue that it gave them the confidence to push them over the top in the Super Bowl. They had a great pass rush that completely disrupted New England's offense in both of their matchups. The only person happy after our game against New England was Crayton who thought it would be a great idea to predict we'd beat them in the Super Bowl if they were good enough to make it. That was awesome...or maybe the opposite of awesome actually.
The way our secondary and pass rush was playing at the end, we would've had to beat New England in a shootout. It's great to have faith and of course anything can happen...but in reality (which is far, far away from anything that goes through Crayton's mind) they would've had huge advantages against us that they did not have against the Giants.
Now, with Tank playing well in the mix on that D line and our completely revamped secondary, I think we are in a much better position. Pretty exciting actually.
