we were the dregs of the NFL? I know it's been 6 years since we were, but it doesn't seem that long ago, now look at us, every media outlet and publication is swooning over our roster and team potential, pegging us no less than being in the NFC title game

I'm even excited, last year I didn't think we really would have had a shot, but this year is quite different

Oh, we had a shot last season. The problem was that we shot ourselves out of a golden opportunity. Let's hope that the team doesn't make the same mistake twice two years in a row.

No we really didnt. There is NO WAY we beat the Pats.

We could have gotten past Giants and GB.... but thats it... we get torched in SB.

You don''t know that. You might THINK that would happen, but you don't know that.

Had the Cowboys went on to the SuperBowl...anything can happen!

Success breeds confidence...:)

So, we had no chance if the team made it to the Super Bowl and played a hell of a game, but the Giants were a shoe-in?

Reeves and Roy. Sad but true.

Owens prob not 100%.

Randy Moss probably sticks up with a 3 or 4 dagger TD game.

Actually the Giants were the ONLY team I believe that could have beat them. It was just going "that way".

Whatever...

If the Cowboys would have not chilled before playing the Giants, the Cowboys would have kicked that butt...even worse than the Giant's did!!

The Cowboys players should have come to Denver to chill in the cold instead of going to Mexico...where it's HOT!

If I were the Coach, I would have told the players that if they want to go on a vacation during the bye week? I would restrict them to New York...to see the weather.

That's what you believe and everyone's entitled to their opinion. In this day and age of the NFL, the only sure thing in a Super Bowl is that it will be played in the month of February. Thankfully, that's why they play the game.

The Cowboys lost their opportunity to prove they were capable of winning the Super Bowl by losing to the same team they had proven were beatable twice. Dallas also lost to the Patriots, but they were going to automatically lose to them again if they met again in the championship game..? Thankfully for them, the Giants didn't hold fast to that same philosophy when it mattered most.

I hear ya my friend... but the Giants were playing at a level that were not at... we were not going to get there in the playoffs.

Yes... opinions we all have them.

We showed nothing to prove we were anywhere in their league from the "battle of the undefeated teams" in the regular season match except for a short lead in the 3rd quarter that quickly dissipated into a blowout on our own turf. We had them sweating for about 12 seconds.

I hate Eli with that constantly confused look on his 12 year old face, but the Giants definitely played the Pats quite solidly in that week 17 matchup. I don't think anyone can argue that it gave them the confidence to push them over the top in the Super Bowl. They had a great pass rush that completely disrupted New England's offense in both of their matchups. The only person happy after our game against New England was Crayton who thought it would be a great idea to predict we'd beat them in the Super Bowl if they were good enough to make it. That was awesome...or maybe the opposite of awesome actually.

The way our secondary and pass rush was playing at the end, we would've had to beat New England in a shootout. It's great to have faith and of course anything can happen...but in reality (which is far, far away from anything that goes through Crayton's mind) they would've had huge advantages against us that they did not have against the Giants.

Now, with Tank playing well in the mix on that D line and our completely revamped secondary, I think we are in a much better position. Pretty exciting actually.

Assuming most of us here are over the age of 10 (though at times I've had my doubts), then yes, we remember "the dregs."

People seem to forget we were ahead of the Patriots in the third quarter and were a questionable holding penalty away from continuing a drive deep in Patriots territory to tie it in the fourth. 48-27 was a deceiving score as the hoodie deliberately ran up the score at the end.

And there was no way the G-Men were going to beat the Pats and no way we were going 13-3 last year.

Anything is possible.

They killed us by 21 in Dallas.

Hate to see what they'd have done to us on a neutral field.

Our collective butts would hurt.
