Remember when...

- Remember when we all were unhappy because we couldn't score 17 points a game?
- Remember when any QB we put behind our OL seemed to be running for his life?
- Remember when we would have a chance in a game, just to watch us throw an INT?
- Remember when we would get the ball at the end of the game down by 4 and we would all collectively think, we're done

Guess what boys and girls? We have an amazing offense. Everytime we touch the ball with the game on the line I honestly believe we can drive down and score. When was the last time that you worried about the offense having the ball? What an amazing turn around this has been.

Just thought I'd bring a bit of history into our thinking this holiday season. Those days were not that far ago but it appears that they are over for the next few years.

No kidding, it was on a few short years ago that we had an OC tell the HC that he had no play that could get us 1 yard on 4th and 1.

Now even when we were down 35-17 to the Aints, I still thought we had enough firepower to come back.

I agree with all of this, but I don't like close games. Last year took away 10 years of my life. I like this season much more. We are blowing out the teams that we should blow out.

Of course, I feel that we really blew a couple of games this season on stupidity.

I also remember the days of having a 10 to 14 point lead going into the 4th quarter and thinking that we were going to get beat.

Unless the game is a clear blowout in our favor (say a 21 point lead with 3 minutes left), I can put a lump of coal where the sun doesn't shine, and it would turn into a diamond.

Seriously, if we ever DID have a 21 point lead with 3 minutes to go, I would be thinking of the scenarios where our opponent could comeback and win......it was TERRIBLE back then....and it wasn't even all that long ago.

I'd like to see a stat on scores per possession compared to the rest of the league.

I wish I had a machine that could spit out every single stat I ever wanted to know. That would be nice.

Remember when it was third down and 8+ yards to go and you thought, "Just run the ball and punt it, cuz there's no freaking way we're getting this first down!"

That's one of the first things I noticed with Romo in the lineup,,, 3rd and 11? no problem!!

True...sometimes I say 3rd and 15 is no problem, and Romo has proven true to form.

Heck, I remember JJ's first year when HE was given the draw plays.....there's another 200 yard game. Hasn't sniffed a draw play in quite awhile.

Ya know...I'm actually surprised that someone hasn't created a stats program where you could simply put in which variables you wanted and spit out the numbers. I'm sure STATS, Inc. keeps up with the number of possessions each team has had and they certainly keep up with scoring, so it wouldnt' be a stretch to create a program that could easily come up with this or any other number of stats and then rank teams and invidual players.

That surprises me as well. I have no idea where to even begin to look but I would think that such a program or the even stats could be out there.

Let's remind each other an the begging of next season to keep said numbers..
