It seems recently lots of people have been comparing current games to past games.
This game reminds a little bit of the Giants v. Patriots at the end of the 2007 season. The Patriots won to go 16-0 and the Giants lost in a close game, but showed they could go toe to toe with the great Patriots team for four quarters. That game seemed to make the Giants even more confident and of course they ended up beating the Patriots in the super bowl.
I realize the context is a little different as that was the last game of the year and the Patriots were going 16-0, but I could see similar things happening here. If the Cowboys can keep grinding away they can get to a point where the games mean something. Dallas showed a dominant offense particularly down the field throwing. If Miles comes back our three wr sets are downright scary. The season really hinges on our defense perfecting the Kiffin scheme. Although the defense is disappointing now, I could expect to see some improvement as the season goes along.
