FA ACQUISITIONS:

OG Logan Mankins - He's the leader of Pats OL, scrappy as heck and just plain winner. Open the wallet Jerry.
DL Shaun Rodgers - Prefer Richard Seymour/Shaun Ellis, but Rogers provides the Cowboys with a 350 lb NT to spell Rat on the goalline and short yardage situations. Rogers also gives the Cowboys the ability to have a 2 gapping NT allowing the DEs to 1 gap, a scheme which Rob Ryan prefers (Rob also loves Shaun)
DB Nnamdi Asomugha - Asomugha is a Rob Ryan protege, lots of mutal admiration for the other. With Ware, Rat, Rogers & Quinn rushing the passser, Asogmugha will feast in coverage.

*Trade Spencer for a 2nd, Leonard Davis for a 5th

DRAFT:

1) OLB Robert Quinn, North Carolina - 6'5 270 4.5 - Ryan will love his ferocity & hustle to match crazy athleticism, size & production

2a) OL Marcus Cannon, TCU, 6'5 350 - the next RT, monstrous but nimble - has had a zero sack season

2b) DL Marvin Austin, North Carolina, 6'3 310 4.8 - freak of athlete at 300 (drops due to off field issues)

3) ILB Mark Herzlich, Boston College, 6'4 240 4.7 - super instincts, another guy Ryan will love (just makes plays, drops due to not being 100% healthy)

4) SS Ahmad Black, Florida, 5'9 195 4.4 - lack of size causes teams to overlook, football playing fool

5a) DE Greg Romeus, Pittsburg, 6'5 280 4.7 - only falls this far due to injuries, former 1st round projection

5b) FS Mark LeGree, Appalachian State, 6'0 200 4.5 - amazing instincts to go along with production, a bit too small, a bit to unknown, a bit too small a school

6) FB/H-Back Charles Clay, Tulsa, 6'3 240 4.6 - playmaker at Tulsa, can pass pro, run the ball & make plays as a receiver - dynamic

7) C Brandon Fusco, Slippery Rock, 6'4 300 - d3 guy with lots of upside, man amongst boys in school but will need time to adapt to speed at pro level

I think we would have to trade more than a 5th for someone to take Leonard Davis off our hands

Touche. :laugh2:

You lost me at trade Spencer. I dont think the fans understand just how satisfied the Cowboys are with him. he's not going anywhere.

I guess you get lost easily. Seriously, how many times did Jerry say he was "comfortable" with Wade and that he was not going to fire him?

If I was Spencer, I'd be worried. Rightfully so.

You think we would take Quinn with Spencer here?

Dude, Ryan won't bring Shaun here. He was the man who benched him last season. He got lazy and lost his job to a young guy named Rubin who should have made the Pro Bowl this year.

Garrett isn't going to have Jerry shell out money for guys with felony charges on their record either i can't imagine.

That's like asking me if I would dump Roseann Barr if Adriana Lima (Jessica Alba, Bar Rafaeli, fill-in-the-blank-of-your-dream-woman) wanted to drag me off to bed.

Who would even think, least of all, twice. :D

See, you just spout of idiocy without knowing anything beyond the headlines (or stat). Rob Ryan LOVES Shaun Rogers. Put those in 3 inch headlines Paula.

Shaun Rogers lost his starting spot to Rubin Ahtyba b/c he was not healthy. But you would not know any of that, b/c you don't bother to read the whole article when you google. Keep spouting your nonsense Paula.

Ahmad Black will not be available in the 4th

Doubt Quinn makes it past Cleveland

Marvin Austin can be had much later.

Exactly. We can't have that much money sitting on the bench. We line up a preliminary trade for Spencer prior to the draft. If we get Quinn, then we pull the trigger on the Spencer trade and use Butler as backup. Heck, Butler may beat out Spencer next year.

I love how the draft brings out the Madden in people.

Continue being unrealistic at will.

Rob Ryan loves Shaun Rogers................

Yes, when he's on the bench.

Show me one article or interview or anything where Ryan talks about how he loves Rogers.

You won't find one.. there's a reason he barely sniffed the field this year. Rogers fell out of favor with Mangini and Ryan because of his attitude, his laziness, and his poor play. He was healthy the majority of the year, just didn't get playing time.

If Ryan liked the guy so much, he would have certainly found a way to get him on the field, especially on that horrible D. Hell, Kenyon Coleman was one of their starting DE's.. remember him?

The guy has a reputation for being a whiner, complaining, being lazy, and getting into trouble. All you know about him is that he's a big guy and he had a couple really good years.

He's not a guy you'll see in Dallas.. count on it.

As for the other nonsense.. save it for someone who cares man.

Absolutely, Dallas has been looking for that compliment to Ware and Spencer and considering Anthony is entering the final year of his contract you just never know.

I suppose the answer is not that clean cut though. There will be other players on the board, I guess at the time you have to consider if he offers the best value.

Fair question. He was never 100% healthy or in game shape. He was hobbled by ankle & hip injuries all year. He hasn't been healthy since he broke his leg in 2009, when he was on the verge of a dominant season.

Don't take my word for it that Ryan loved Rogers, don't trust the stats either, read for yourself:

(On if he has any questions about what Shaun Rogers can do)- “I think we’re going to have to find out what he can do, if he’s healthy enough to go. He has unbelievable talent. I saw that already. He’s going to be a special player. Whether, he’s full speed, ready to go, that will be the big question. Once he’s out there full speed, he’s going to be excellent for us.”

Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan said Rogers’ pressure on Drew Brees was a key to the Browns’ stunning win at New Orleans.

“I don’t know if we were confusing Drew Brees, but we were probably hurting him,” Ryan said. “When Shaun Rogers comes down on you four times, that hurts.”

Team President Mike Holmgren suggested he was the Rogers of old in the win.

“When he’s healthy,” Ryan said, “he’s a man among boys.”

Q: The run defense appeared to improve when Ahtyba Rubin took over for injured Shaun Rogers at nose tackle. What exactly does that mean?

Ryan: Rubin's a real fine player ... a guy who really grew in his second season last year. He really came alive and did a great job, but there's only so many Shaun Rogers in this league. To put him in the middle of your defense is something special.

Q: Could he be just as effective at end?

Ryan: Sure, he can be effective anywhere. You have a Reggie White lined up at tackle and end and nose tackle. A guy like Shaun, just have him on the field whether at nose, tackle, a shade, a three-technique, an end -- doesn't matter. Just get him out there and let him play hard. Linebacker, who cares? Get his (butt) out there.

I don't lie, I don't know everything but I don't lie. And unlike some, I am not going to let my personal agendas get in the way of improving my favorite team.

Alot of players play through the season with nagging injuries.. some more than others because they fail to take care of themselves and condition themselves properly as NFL athletes.

He was active for every game except one this season, yet only started once, and played sparingly.. for Ryan.
