Derrick Brooks-LB- Buccaneers Sep. 14 - 11:52 am et

With rumors flying that the Bears will reach out to free agent LB Derrick Brooks, the veteran's agent said his client "is ready to go."

Brooks, 36, would make sense in Chicago as he knows the scheme and knows Lovie Smith from their days in Tampa Bay. "He’s been training just like normal. He could play Sunday," said Brooks' agent. Brooks had workouts with the Saints and Raiders but left both teams without a contract.

No, we shouldn't.

Brooks played the weakside LB in a 4-3 Under scheme, which is the same scheme the Bears use.

He'll fit in there, he won't fit in a 3-4.

We should reach out to every available free agent...surely one of them might work out for us.

How about Bill Romanowski or Ken Norton Jr. ?

Kevin Hardy? Chris Claiborne? Dexter Coakley? Randall Godfrey? Al Singleton? Is Reggie Brown walking again? What's Cornelius Bennett up to these days? Would Hollywood Henderson be interested in a comeback?
