Report: Bryce Petty on New Orleans Saints' radar

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported last November that the Saints were planning to select an early-round quarterback in 2015, in part because of Brees' age and declining arm strength.
Could we see Loomis pull the trigger on a quarterback with the No. 31 overall pick acquired from the Seattle Seahawks in the Jimmy Graham blockbuster?
The Saints view Baylor's Bryce Petty as the "best pure passer" available this season, reports Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Whether that's true or a smokescreen designed to throw their competition off the scent of a different quarterback remains to be seen.

Mixed feeling I have read a lot of the reports but I'm sure Sean Payton has a lot of input and if they are willing to take Petty that high then he clearly sees something in Petty that others may not.

Their interest is a little more concrete. They flew down to Dallas to meet with him. They also were going to have their new owner join them but there was a scheduling conflict.

That sounds a lot more serious than things from the media that probably are fabricated to get someone to trade up in front of the Saints, pushing someone down to their second first round choice.
