Report: Former NFL WR Michael Jackson dies in motorcycle crash

Former NFL wide receiver Michael Jackson was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday morning in his hometown of Tangipahoa, La., per a TMZ Sports report. He was 48 years old.

Jackson was riding the motorcycle at a “high rate of speed” at approximately 1:00 a.m. Friday morning, per officials, when a 20-year-old woman backing out of parking spot blocked both lanes of traffic. Jackson slammed into the driver’s side door of the automobile with such force the driver was also killed in the accident.

The crash currently remains under investigation.

Jackson was drafted with the 41st overall pick in the sixth round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He spent five seasons with the Browns and played three more with the Ravens organization upon the Browns’ relocation to Baltimore in 1995.

Very sad, looks like both were probably at fault. Very rarely do automobile drivers die in accidents with motorcyclists.

Very unfortunate to see two lives lost that way. The article implies that Jackson was speeding, but I have to wonder how the other victim was legitimately blocking both lanes with her car? Sounds odd.

Simple answer was it wasn't legitimate. Both parties could've made better decisions that would've resulted in them still being here today.

Too bad. The lady probably misjudged his speed. That can happen with motorcycles. They are hard to pick up.

sounds like she was not a very good driver blocking BOTH lanes at the same time; and he was going too fast. Both at fault and both dead. Sad.
