Makes me think they are convinced DQ is gone and are possibly thinking of going in a completely new direction. They were in the game against SF and could have possibly won it because of the defense. What in the hell are they planning on doing? Since the defense is overrun with so much talent maybe they are planning on bringing Switzer out of retirement or give Nolan another chance lol

Nothing like pushing Quinn out the door.

I don't understand what the heck they are doing.

Maybe Quinn knows he has leverage over the Jones’s since teams want to hire him so he’s possibly more vocal behind the scenes. Who knows.

the only thing that makes sense is that they believe Quinn is gone for a HC job elsewhere, and are preparing for the new DC to come in and pick his staff
Which sucks.

I would have slow played it then and just let them hang until that decision was made.

This just does more harm than good.

Nah......Since reports that Payton might get/accept an offer, Quinn probably has a choice of at least two teams. In other words.......he probably a goner

I’d say perhaps they are giving mm more say in hiring staff but them letting go of Davis whose a McCarthy guy doesn’t jive with that unless maybe they aren’t as close but reports say otherwise.

So maybe it ends up being campen as o line and then schottenheimer, Hackett or Mcadoo joining in some capacity

My only thoughts are that the coaches who were told they weren’t coming back were guys whose contracts ran out. The Jones boys definitely run a circus around here, but in this case, why would you resign assistants to new contracts when the coordinators may be leaving? We always complained about Jerry keeping coaches that new head coaches or coordinators had to accept.

We may be getting a new DC, maybe a new OC, even an outside shot at a new head coach if he decides we might as well start from scratch if they leave. Maybe this is just managing contracts and letting the new guys bring in their own guys.

Side note, I know we’ve been one of the top offenses during the regular season, but I’d love to see a new OC who actually understands the run game better than Moore, or a guy who brings in a run game coordinator. I also want to see a more modern pass game. Too often I feel our receivers don’t put enough effort in because they know their routes are designed to make someone else open instead of all routes designed to put pressure on the defense together with a clear progression. When everyone runs the same curls, where’s the progression? When everyone runs deep, where’s the progression off other routes?
