There is concern internally that coach Jason Garrett and his entire coaching staff will be fired unless the Dallas Cowboys win the NFC East and reach the playoffs, ESPN's Ed Werder reported, citing an anonymous team source.

That would be contrary to what owner Jerry Jones has said all season.

For months, Jones has maintained this season wasn't Armageddon for Garrett

Back in late November, Jones said Garrett would return: “I’m disappointed we don’t have a better record, but he has got us in position to win the division and got a team here I firmly believe has the ability to be one of the better playing teams at the end," Jones said. "We’re positioned to get in the playoffs. We see logically how to get in the playoffs. We have that for all practical purposes in our control. Now, that’s a pretty good spot to be in after 10 games."

Then this past week, after a stunning loss to the Packers, many were wondering if Jones can possibly stick with Garrett if the Cowboys miss the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season.

They (meaning Garrett et al.) should be concerned. Get some results or find a job somewhere else...
