If only Montalbán had worn a 'Snidely Whiplash' handlebar mustache in that clip. LOL.

He's their ENTIRE offense, he deserves more IMO.

Man I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but 2 things:

#1 That was the best and foremost Star Trek movie ever made!
#2. Khan is right. For God's sakes, Jones-Drew has a contract. What if for the sake of argument, Jones ran for 800 yards last year, had 2 years left, and the owner called him in and said he didn't hit 1000 yards, he was gonna re negotiate his contract and give him less money?
I am a firm believer that when you sign a contract, you sign a contract. This is nothing more than pure greed, with Brees leading the pack. Sorry fellas, he signed on the dotted line. I hope Khan sticks to his guns, the same I hope Woody Johnson sticks to his.

If he had spent the last 2 seasons stinking it up. I am sure they would either want him renegotiate for a lower salary or just outright cut him. It works both ways.

At some point it is a wise decision to keep the face of your sorry *** franchise happy. He is literally all the have. Pay him 3 or 4 million more a year, add a couple years and keep everyone happy.

Oh, he would have been cut already.

How did Brees end up in this discussion? His situation doesn't even apply since Brees didn't have a contract.

This hold out isn't going to help Jones-Drew achieve his goal of breaking the rushing record.

Sorry, I'm just NOT a brees fan. When your owner offers you $19 million, that is NINETEEN MILLION AMERICAN DOLLARS, and you say it's not enough, that is pure unadulterated greed.
And i felt the same way about Pujols, I don't care if he is the best bat in the entire MLB, when you turn down 30 mil per year, wow.....shame on you.

Yes, I understand, Jones would have been cut, but it bugs the **** outta me to hold owners hostage. Yes you are all right, he is all they got, but the owner smart or otherwise is trying to make a point, he won't be held hostage by a player, I was hoping Johnson would have had that attitude 2 years ago with Revis.
Now, Khan painted himself in a corner making that statement. Tough situation for all concerned. AND, we're talking $30k / day in fines. That is $900k for the month.......

These guys should re-watch the Seinfeld episode when Kramer spills the coffee on himself, and they offer him "coffee for life" and he jumps at it....lol

Jones-Drew will cave after he gets a few of those 30k fines.

Now, like Chris Johnson, getting only 800k or whatever that was, and then he rushed for 2,000 yards, he was getting underpaid and his demand for more money was warranted.

Jones Drew on the other hand is already getting $4.5 million/year. This is a business, you take a risk when you sign a contract, and on this one the Jaguars won. There are tons of other contracts where they sign for big $ and they suck the rest of the career.

Just because MJD made a mistake and signed that contract, doesn't mean he should be able to get out of it just like that.

Other than the Brees part, I agree with you. No bubbles burst here. My earlier posts were about having some fun is all. In all seriousness, I hate players wanting to renegotiate in the middle of a decent, recently negotiated contract extension.

Like you, I agree w/ the current hardline stances of both Shad Khan and Woody Johnson. Hope they stick to their guns.

MJD and DR are great players, but they have a responsibility to honor their agreements, IMHO. Getting paid is part of it, but having already gotten paid... and having willingly agreed to their respective deals... get to work.

The teams are at risk of losing out on their investment if either of you go down, too.

I feel for the young players stuck in way-too-unfairly-imbalanced rookie contracts... those who significantly outperform their drafted (or, especially, UDFA) slot and significantly contribute. But then I appreciate when teams recognize they got a steal and choose to voluntarily make those contracts more fair... adjusting them to fit player performance, mid-stream.

Jags should just let him and keep fineing him. He'll just lose more and more money. Its not like the jags need him to play! They arent gonna do anything this season with or without him lol except lose.

I have no problem with a guy that has outperformed his contract trying to get a new deal with a year left on the current deal....two years, not so much.

MOJO happened to be the best in the world at his job last year. The guy has earned a raise. He is the reason they will sell tickets this season and if they make any kind of run it will be because they have a serious workhorse at RB.

As previous posters have stated, when players don't perform they get cut. Its only fair that when they outperform their contract they can use their leverage to renegotiate a new one. I don't like when people say "oh those players are so greedy" when they hold out because the same motivations to hold on to $ are influencing the owners to tell the players to bug off.

Any one of us would do the same. Whether you work at a department store, a law firm or a hospital. If you are the best at your job and you get paid like just another bloke we would come away feeling pretty disrespected. MOJO makes the Jags money, he deserves his share.
