Jaylon Smith is coming.

In the 2016-2017 Fiesta Bowl against now-teammate Ezekiel Elliott and the Ohio State Buckeyes, Smith suffered a devastating knee injury that involved him tearing both his ACL and MCL ligaments. To make matters worse, the injury also severely damaged the main nerve in his leg that extends down into his foot and toes.

The Dallas Cowboys never once doubted him in the process, as evidenced by their 34th-overall grab on him in the 2016 NFL Draft, much to the chagrin of many.

It's been a long, arduous and miraculous recovery for the former Consensus All-American to return to football, but according to Cowboys insider Mike Fisher -- the wait is over.

The team is reportedly expected to play both Smith and touted rookie wide receiver Ryan Switzer in the Cowboys' third preseason game this Saturday, when they host the Indianapolis Colts.

Nice. I expect Jaylon is going to be all over the place. Can't wait for that.

It'll be good seeing Switzer in action too. Maybe we'll get to see him on punt return duty.

Believe it when I see it.

A few days ago I read that Dak's debut would be Saturday.

I would expect 1st unit to play 1 to 2 series in this upcoming game. then half the game vs Raiders then final vs Houston unlikely to see starters play at all.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Good. We will likely need both hitting the ground running to weather the storm early in the season.

One legend is about to be born and the other strides on. Two legends on the same team neither taking 1 nfl snap yet, monsters of their positions, no one can handle all this epicness in one season let alone 1 game. The field is going to explode with all that awesomeness on it.

Me too, my friend. Little switz was a steal. He could potentially make Dallas great there singlehandedly. Did for the Tar Heels...

So we will get what, 2 to 4 plays from Jaylon before the pull him. Possibly 6 to 8 at the most.

I can see a few plays, he comes out to monitor him, then comes back in for a few more plays. Then they shut him down for the night.
Then if he responds well the next few days as for soreness, stiffness or what ever. Then the next game they go 8 to 10 snaps.

I hope I am wrong and he gets more snaps though. But this is just my guess, and I will be happy just for those snaps.
