Report: Jonathan Allen Given Permission to Seek Trade

Whoa, I am surprised you didn't say swap players. Allen for Micah.
Does this mean you now like Micah?

True ......you could see it coming, especially with his contract. He's a good leader.....I would think the Cowboys would certainly be interested if he's released or a low pick.
We have 5 - 5th round picks. But a 6th or 7th would be great. Jerry likes 1 years deals.

Younger stronger faster please.

Trading for him is nonsense. He is on a negative value contract. Washington will just release him.

I would offer him a one year non guaranteed deal for whatever he thinks he deserves and I would cut him at the first sign of it not working out.

He will want guaranteed money. Giving him anything substantial would be madness.

i'm just surprised I let a thread like this stay in here, pretty soon a guy like me will report EVERY player that gets released or gets permission to seek a trade which clearly could find a home in another area of this wonderful forum!!!!!

Yeah I don't see why an up and coming team doesn't try to retain a great player. If I had to guess it's an age/production/pay formula which they don't think is worth it.
Probably counting on replacing him with a much cheaper draft pick.

Micah and next year's 1st.

If they hesitate, throw in a late rounder.

Throw a couple of our comp picks at them and see if they bite.

He hates losing he shouldn't want to come here,
So, what you're saying is that we like losing?? I must like dumb threads, since I keep reading yours....or maybe I'm hoping that that you'll make sense one day. Please, share you thoughts.

Benefit though is offering them a meager draft pick to guarantee he doesn’t get persuaded to go somewhere else

Exactly, it's beneficial to lock in a desired player for a cheaper pick. It's a lot easier than competing with an open market.

He might get released.
If he doesn't get traded, he'll 100% get released.

Washington saves 16 million this year by cutting him and has no cap hit on him next year.

Advantage of not prorating a ton of money down the line, easier to get out of contracts towards the end (Jerry take notes)
