Report: Raiders are shopping Carr

A lot of people crying about Cooper being awful in Oakland in 2018 and that he was rescued are ignoring a lot of facts.

Fact: Cooper had 100 yds in 2 of 6 games in Oakland (33%). Cooper had 100 yds in 2 of 9 (22%) game in Dallas. *Regular Season
Fact: Cooper barely played in his 6th game in Oakland - 12 Snaps (plenty of which were running plays) - before he left after suffering a head injury. He had a 28 yard catch called back due to a penalty on the OL in the short time he played. So, you could almost say he had 100 yds in 2/5 (40%) of games in Oakland.
Fact: The Raiders had an entirely new offensive system installed.
Fact: In both Oakland and Dallas, Cooper's numbers were mostly feast or famine.

I would never pay Dak 25 million, based on what he has done to this point and I would never pay a backup 10 million. We don't have the cap to do that kind of stuff IMO.

That is why I suggested we pay Carr $10 mil (in my scenario) to start instead of paying $25 mil to Dak to start.

I have thrown hints around here for people to not be upset at Cooper if he can't put up peak Dez Bryant or Miles Austin numbers due to that fact. And with Frederick returning and Linehan out, there's no blaming the OL or the OC.

People claim Dak "dinks and dunks" when he doesnt, while Carr actually had the shortest throw distance in the league last year. Yet the same ones who claim the dink and dunk want Carr lmao.

I'm not one to willingly trade for a downgrade at QB on a player that's already on a big contract. Especially a QB that's arguably been bottom five amongst starters the last two-three seasons.

I'm not one to willingly trade for a downgrade at QB on a player that's already on a big contract. Especially a QB that's arguably been bottom five amongst starters the last two-three seasons.

my point is if the cowboys aren't serious about the QB position and believe they can pull a Seattle and put all the support around a young QB (that window is almost over btw) why would we want to break from that mold and overpay for average performance. I thought the goal was to win with a low salary qb. EVEN IF Carr was a drop off it's not going to be that much. We have a system, Carr will do what is asked of Dak, and nothing more.

Just because it's not realistic compared to other scenarios doesn't mean we can't talk about it. We are fans, we have no control on a forum, right? Why talk about anything then since it doesn't matter...

You pay an above average QB that is only 25 years old and continue to develop him. We're already right there before his development, with development the sky is the limit.

You dont trade for an awful QB who is older than the incumbent.
