From Pete Thamel on ESPN:

"Sources: Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby plans to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft.
Amid the legal wrangling over his NCAA eligibility after admitting he bet on sports, he intends to head to the NFL."

It will be interesting to see if anyone does draft him

the gambling is so obvious (pun intended) and what team is going to throw the dice?

An interesting take from Conor Orr:

His main point? Sorsby should ideally not be drafted by a team that needs an immediate fix at QB (cough*Cardinals*cough), but would be better-suited with a stable organization who can develop him.

As we all know, what should happen is rarely what does happen. Until/unless his gambling addiction is under control, I wouldn't touch him. Based on what I've read, though, someone might roll the dice with their 2nd-round draft pick.

with the round the world cruise baggage this guy is toating, only a fool would risk a 2nd.

Why would anyone want a gambling addict at QB, of all positions ? Every time that kid makes a mistake on the field, the gambling issue to going to be in the back of everyone's mind. That poor throw resulting in an INT? He's gambling. He held the ball too long and took the sack instead of throwing it away? He's gambling. Not sure why NFL team would sign up for the headache.

Even if he is playing real well, what would happen if he sucks in a big game?

We can’t get any worse. Our current quarterbacks have sucked in big games for years. It would be nice to finally try something new.

We have had discount talent garbage at the quarterback position for the past 30 years. It would be nice to finally have a true first round talent on the team. If we lose, it wouldn’t be any different than the past three decades. But there is massive upside and potential in Sorsby that we haven’t had since 1989.

you love to ignore the elephant in the room, don't you?

The minute he throws a crucial INT the whispers start . “ What happened “ . No the Cowboys have a # 1 and two QB’s capable fighting for # 2 . Don’t need the distraction .

And i noticed the CFL has stated no team is allowed to sign him . That league doesn’t want him . The best thing that could happen is he goes to the spring league the UFL leads a team to a championship or deep playoffs then tries the NFL in 27 .

some here are blind to the implications of having a known serial gambler on the team...
