Report: Texans Getting Serious About Draft

Then they are going to have to get that 2nd pick from the Broncos because the Bills are not likely to pass on Miller and if they do he will only last to 5.

Yeah...if Buffalo for some reason passes on him, Von Miller will be playing in Phoenix next year.

I think it's for Miller. As poorly as their secondary played last year, Wade is more likely to build his defense with a potentially great OLB not a potentially great CB.

I know Peter King in particular has said they want to trade up for Peterson, but I find it more plausible that they want someone like Quinn or maybe Miller.
Yeah.
The trade up, imo, would mean Peterson or Miller, since they are moving to a 3-4.
I just can't see a 3-4 team taking Quinn in the top 5. Top 12-18 or so maybe, but not top 5.

well seeing how the draft is just around the corner, they better be getting serious......

I'm going to be a happy SOB either way come draft day I feel.

If they trade up for Peterson I'll be ecstatic. If they look OL or DL I'm fine with that as well as long as him name is not Nate Solder.

Heck they can trade down and be pick ****** and land Pouncey, Heyward, Carimi or Sherrod and I'll be fine with that as well.

I am with you 100%. I like Peterson but not sure I want to trade a third rounder for him. if wee do make the move it will be hard to argue with it.

I agree on the OL and DL as long as it isn't Solder and I am not on board with Bowers...that knee of his scares the crap out of me.

I have pretty much been hoping for the trade down and picking up more picks. I would prefer the trade down to get a third....so we are looking at going down about 5 spots or so.

Seen crazier things and if there is one thing I do know well it's that the Bronocs want nothing to do with the #2 selection and now that I think about it. It plays right into the reports I have heard about them wanting to walk away from this draft with additional picks next year and more specifically an additional #1 to put them into the Andrew Luck race. You know John Elways, Stanford.............:D

This is the only scenario that I can see.

Houston giving up both this year's and next year's #1's.

Denver wanting the additional pick to try their 'Luck' for next year and Houston 'going for broke' knowing that it's now or never for Kubiak and Co and not caring about the future.

But two #1 draft picks for a cornerback?

They had better hope he's the next Deion Sanders if they're paying that price!

Would make sense for the Texans to want to get Peterson. Their secondary was pathetic last year.

I kind of hope they do it so we can be forced to address our real problem areas like OL, DL, and FS.

You know, it's pretty darn hard to argue against that line of thinking.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading down a little to pick up someone's second for next year. I don't at all like trading future picks away.

My guess is they are after Miller, too. Miller will be a very special player IMO.

I cannot remember a draft with so much rumor and speculation about trades. The NFL really need to find a way to have the draft before free agency every year.

Same here. I'd really love to come out of the 1st 3 rounds with potential starters at OL, DL and DB. Ideally, at least 2 of them would start this year and a 3rd would contribute quite a bit.

Well, I for one, am glad that the Texans are finally getting serious about the draft.

That absolute clown show, three ring circus approach they've been running down in Houston is getting a little old after 8 years. No one's laughing anymore.

It's gotta be for PP.

Not only drafting a CB 2nd overall, but trading up to do it seems like a pretty big stretch. (not that it can't happen)

The only two picks they could make that would make me fill the screen with bullet holes would be Solder and Newton. I would just throw things if it was Fairley.

this could have a serious domino effect. if houston takes miller I could see Buffalo taking Gabbert. That would leave Arizona out of luck on a QB- which means they take PP.

I wonder why they wouldn't take Gabbert anyway, or Newton if Carolina doesn't.

They don't really think their QB of the future is on the roster now, do they?

I could see them taking Gabbert possibly.

I've heard that they like Skelton a lot, but realzie that he may need a year or tow to develope. This adds up to them either bring in Carson Palmer or some other vet, or maybe trading for Kolb if they like him more than the top 2 QBs in this draft.
