Report: Wentz to start season opener for Eagles
By Dom Izzo on Sep 3, 2016 at 6:46 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Carson Wentz may not redshirt after all.

ESPN's Adam Caplan reports that if Wentz's broken rib is fully healed, he will start Philadelphia's season opener September 11th against Cleveland.

The Eagles made news Saturday morning by trading starting quarterback Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings.

This will make things interesting.

He should be sitting behind Daniel for the time being, but I guess they've seen enough to believe he's ready. It's Wentz v. Dak for the future of the NFCE.

I liked Wentz coming out of college but I hope Dak has a better career.

Rookie QB who didn't look great in preseason, coming of an injury, with limited preseason reps--I'm starting Cleveland's defense in my fantasy league.

Better question is......why do you have their defense in the first place!?!?

Seems they are in full rebuild.

Just letting him get game experience with no expectations is my guess.

Anxious to see Wentz, I feel he's gonna give us fits for the next several years.

I think this is a good thing for philly honestly get him the experience he needs maybe he takes a beating here and there but he will be better for it in the end. I really think you better understand the mental fortitude of your QB though because if he struggles with confidence it could be detrimental to his future if he cant psychologically recover from a bad season.

The announcement is official from the Eagles HC. Time for Risen to get fitted for his #11 Eagles jersey. Lol!

Even though Daniel played poorly in the preseason I still think the best move for them long term would be to let him start for st least half a season and let Wentz watch and learn a bit before throwing him into the fire. He barely had a preseason.

Also read that Daniel is not happy at all about the move. This is shaping up to work out great for us, haha.

Wentz must be envying the perfect offensive setup that Dak has.

It's not as though the Eagles don't have good players on offense, but it seems every unit they have is not as good as what Dallas had.

Online is pretty good but not as good
RBs are good but maybe not as good
TE Ertz is close...but Witten is so clutch
WRs are not as good either

Good luck
Or better yet

Bad luck!
