Was he not in the strip club despite the charges being dropped?

As far as what difference does it make if they reinstate him now ... I think the league would see it as bad PR if they reinstate him and he doesn't even make it to training camp.

I don't think the commissioner is being unreasonable in wanting to see if Jones has enough commitment to stay clean a few more months before making a decision.

Since when is it illegal to watch girls get naked?

Who cares about PR. Last time i checked this was between an employee and the oversight commision of his employer. They said it was a year long suspension. its been a year.

As for ehat difference does it make? this is his profession, this is what he loves to do and the suspension is keeping him away from that. it is keeping him from fully contributing to his team by studying and working out with the coaching staff. It was said to ba a year long suspension not a 16 month suspension.

Thats the difference. This arbitrary ill drop it when I feel like it policy is perhaps what we should expect from an administrator with the skills of Goodell but that soes not make it any less complete and abject BS.

I disagree. I have to believe that Jerry's leverage is that he's trying to trade for a player that is suspended and has no time table of when he'll be reinstated. Imo, the day pacman is an active player again, not only will other teams become interested, but I believe the price will go up.

Wouldn't they only have to cut a player to make room for him if this drags on until roster cut downs? I highly doubt this goes on that long, even if he's not traded to Dallas, I'm sure he'll have a new home well before then.

This only makes sense if they intend on keeping him. If they dont want him in the lockerroom and they keep him while reinstated then he not only can but HAS to show up for mandatory workouts and practices. They also have to cut a player and he starts to affect their cap again.

If hes suspended then they can hold onto him indefinitely. Once hes reinstated they need to poop or get off the pot.

The guy should be reinstated, Godell has taken this far enough, you can't deny the right to earn a living. I don't want Dallas to sign him but hey it's not my money.

Wrong. He's not denying him earning a living. He's just forcing him, at this point, to do it another way. Playing in the NFL isn't a right, it's a priveledge. You want the right to play that game, for millions of dollars, try not being an idiot and screwing it up. Pacman has no one to blame but himself.

I see what people are saying about the 1 year thing but Roger said when the suspension was handed down, and many, many, many times since that there was NO guaruntee that he'd be reinstated after the year. He's said it many times. Pacman knew from the start that it could be a year, it could be longer, and that he has to stay out of trouble to prove he should be back in.

I'm sure he'll get another shot, this season, to show that he's not going to screw up and we'll see how he does this year and the next few years. I still have my doubts, serious ones, that Pacman will make it through a full football season without incident.
