They pretty much have to.

So backups vs backup? lol Not going to happen. should Philly end up losing with backup playing and lose the #1 seed all hell would break loose in Philly. Fully expect to see Philly starters playing in this game, they have had 2 games to clinch the division vs Dallas and NO and blew both chances.

Is Philly playing their starters?

Absolutely. They need to win to secure the #1 seed and as the #1 seed they get week of rest anyway so it makes sense to play the starters. Now I think they'd probably like to have Hurts get even more rest for his shoulder, so that's at least one thing Philly is being forced to do that they probably don't want to do.

Other than guys that were going to be out anyway due to injury - Johnson, Gardner-Johnson, etc. most of their starters will play. How long? Likely depends on where the game is going in that first half.

But, but, but DaBoll said he wasn't resting any starters!!!

The problem is he never really said he wasn't going to rest his starters. The homers around here took one snippet and ran with it from his Monday press conference ignoring the multiple other statements from the same press conference that indicated benching players was a distinct possibility.

and that is why I would play our starters with exception of guys who are being listed as doubtful like Hankins, LVE and Biadasz. Even if the Cowboys can't win the #1 see they could take the #2 seed and the home playoff game that goes with it.

Maybe they are resting guys who have minor injuries that will improve in a week.
The Cowboys of the 90’s didn’t even let Troy, Emmitt, or Irvin dress for the final game, but most other starters played.

They have no shot at the #2 seed if Philly wins.

The top 4 seeds go to the divisional winners. So even if Dallas finished with the 2nd best record in the entire NFC, if they don't win the division, they can't finish with a Top 4 seed. So no, they can't win the #1 or #2 seed unless Philly loses.
