Several weeks ago I started a thread by saying the Pokes were the worst 7-3 team in the NFL. I predicted that they would end the season 9-7. Since then they put a pretty good whooping on the Raiders and then stumbled in New York. Did the better team win yesterday? Absolutely not!!!! The Cowboys are the far better team. Up 10-0, it was obvious this was a game that could have ended the Gints season in a pile of depression. Instead we all saw what happened. Missed field goals, missed tackles, fumbles, missed open receivers, more missed tackles. I know that you cannot blame missed tackles on Mr. Cupcake but you can blame him for not having the team ready to play, 60 minutes of balls out, throw caution to the wind, win at all cost FOOTBALL. Instead the Cowboys play like the other team should fold its tent and let the parade pass them by.

I am a really big fan but I have to be honest with you all, I really don't like the coach and I don't like the attitude of most of the players. Disliking Philips makes losing slightly less acceptable because one knows that his days as the head coach are quickly coming to an end. He just cannot Close the Deal. There are players who are practice players and there are players who are gamers. Apparently there are coaches who do a heck of a job in September, October and November and there are championship coaches. We know what we have in Wade. 9-7 looks optimistic now!!!

I won't be shocked with as bad as 8-8 at this point but I'm still holding out belief that we'll finish 11-5. I don't know how but I just think we're still going 11-5 like I thought from before the season even started.

We are a 9-7 and team. 2 games off Emmitt's prediction.

I would not be surprised with 8-8 at all. We find ways to lose games.

I suspect we will be 9-7 and out of the playoffs. I do not think Garrett will be the HC next year either.

I really feel badly for Wade. He wil get most of the blame. The thing is, this team made dumb erros under BP too.

Maybe there is more to this winning thing than just coaches?

i think you meant to say losing is less uncceptable because we're one step closer to Wade's dismissal with each loss.

but sadly that means we're one step closer to jason garrett as head coach here :laugh2:

I am very bummed about the loss. For now it is obvious that in the NFC New Orleans is in a class by themselves, but after that things get really interesting.

Dallas just lost to a division rival on the road with .500 record or better. It sucks, but out of curiosity I checked to see how the other "top" contenders minus New Orleans are fairing on the road against good teams (.500 or better).

Giants Road Record 1-2

Lost to Saints, Eagles, and Broncos

Beat Cowboys

Eagles Road Record 1-1

Lost to Chargers

Beat Falcons

Vikings Road Record 1-2

Lost to Steelers, Cardinals

Beat Packers

Packers Road Record 0-1

Lost to Vikings

Beat nobody .500 or better

Cardinals Road Record 2-0

Lost to nobody .500 or better

Beat Jaguars, Giants

Cowboys Road Record 1-3

Lost to Broncos, Packers, Giants

Beat Eagles

San Diego (Thought it would be nice to throw in the Chargers as well since we play them this week) Road Record 2-1

Lost to Steelers

Beat Giants, Broncos

Dallas has had a much more difficult schedule on the road than most teams have so far. So for now, I refuse to give up and throw in the towel.

I suspect highly that if most of the teams listed above had experienced Dallas schedule they too would be in Dallas predicament.

Make the playoffs and see what happens. The fly in the ointment is that if Dallas wants to do a lot of damage in the playoffs it will have to do so on the road.

I understand all the bashing that Wade has received this season, but I really don't think he should take the blame for this one. What we saw was our players performing poorly. That is why we lost the game. All this "blame Wade for not having the team prepared" crap is tiresome. We had fumbles, missed tackles, poor coverage, missed field goals, poor blocking, etc. The players didn't do their job yesterday.... and for the most part they have been all season.

Wade doesn't deserve the blame. Neither does Jerry. Neither does Jason Garrett. Neither does Romo. Neither does Roy. Neither does the month of December.

I'm tired of people's scapegoats.

Just a note about the Chargers. I saw their game with the Gmen and NY badly outplayed them,,,not even close stat wise IIRC. Charges won the game in somewhat of a fluke manner. There is reason for hope.

Not scapegoating. I would love to be an elite team with and elite record. There is no sport where the coach matters more than in football. Look at the good ones, they win whether they are in Baltimore and Miami, or Greenbay and Washington, or Miami.

I am not bashing Wade. Wade's record speaks for itself. He is OK up to December. After so many failures in December and January it is very difficult not to classify "HIS" team's performance as a trend. Buffalo, Denver, Dallas, it makes no difference to him.

You left the most eggregious and ignominious players off of your list:

Adams
Kozier
Free
Gurode
Davis

They sucked so bad, Jim Brown couldn't have found running room.

some day i'll figure out why some people think you're only honest if you're bagging on someone or being negative.

i really don't like a lot of the posters here but i can't make that call to oust them like they make for the coach on a daily basis, damn it.

so you're here after a painful loss to go SEE I'M RIGHT!!!

where the hell are you after a win? waiting for our next loss so you can go WHEEE i told you so!!!??? it's almost as if you're happy you can run around and be right now and that's pathetic.

are the steelers a better or worse team than we are? what about other teams with similiar records, or do we just care about being all dramafied for the cowboys faithful?

but but but ... if you can't blame someone and make someone responsible for everything, then how can you ever hold out hope that YOUR change will be the magic bullet to fix it all?

i agree. after every loss people go whining for a scapegoat to blame.

the TEAM lost.

Grow up, man! This team is gutless and it starts with the coach who is a boob.
There is nothing wrong in calling out the truth. There is a tremendous amount of talent on this team and it is under-achieving in a big way. This is not scapegoating, it is a call to action. Get the right coach and the right attitude before we let the opportunity to win a championship pass us by.

Stop protecting Mr. Phillips, Mrs. Phillips. Time to move in a different direction.

Thank you. It's all very predictable though despite being pathetic. I guess misery loves company is true.

great. someone calling a billionaire a boob tells me to grow up.

calling out the truth? you can call out your opinion all day long and that's fine. but just because it's yours doesn't make it the truth.

yes theres a lot of talent on this team
no it's not being used properly
and wade can leave now for all i care.

but none of that changes what i said, now does it?

The coach is a boob. He is not a billionaire. The billionaire is the owner. Oh, are you suggesting that the real coach is the billionaire boob? Well, then we are in total agreement. Part of the problem is that no real coach is going to work for the billionaire boob. I suspect that when Coach Cupcake get the hook, Red Ball will be right behind him. There is no way he gets the nod.

Go, Cowboys, Go Wade, Go Boob

man, you're just a cliche machine void of any thought, just letting your anger-boner fly.

i'm sorry my 2nd grade messages are flying over your head but there isn't much i can do about it at this point except cross you off the list of rational conversation possibilities.
