The Cowboys would not have won Super Bowl VI without him coming out of retirement. They had a gaping hole at LT after Ralph Neely broke his ankle riding a motorcycle on an off day during the season, and Forrest Gregg couldn't cut it, and got injured himself. Liscio coming out of retirement plugged a serious hole, and kept Staubach clean. RIP to ol' #72.

Tony Liscio was an underrated player on those 1960's O-Lines and a big part of why that group became so good from 1966 on.When Coach Landry brought him out of retirement in 1971 he was solid in replacing Ralph Neely, especially in the Minnesota Playoff Game and Super Bowl VI vs Miami..RIP Tony, you gave the Dallas Cowboys a lot of excellent football in your career

RIP. A good friend's wife is in the end stages of ALS, there is literally nothing that is worse.

He was a fine player and person. It always amazes me how many like that are struck by terrible diseases while real pieces of garbage live long healthy lives.

I have a good friend whose father is now in early stages of Alzheimer's. He is a great guy and has been all his life. Sometimes there seems to be no real justice.

My brother is in the same situation.

I find myself feeling guilty sometimes when i think more of my loss of him, than what he is enduring.

Bravest guy i can imagine, has never complained once about the truly terrible blow life has delivered to him.

Here's hoping you'll find peace and happiness in your afterlife, Tony Liscio.
I'll fondly remember you as one of Dallas' most consistent linemen.

Sad to hear of your hard times at the end. Have your happiness in heaven.

Interesting that Tony Liscio was 6-5 and weighed only 255 lbs. Back then (1966), you didn't have to be 300 lbs. plus. How things have changed! Liscio played LT and protected Roger Staubach's blind side, for those who weren't watching back then.
