I always thought that the rule to match the contract of restricted free agent that get signed by another team was a little bit unfair because of the poison pill that can be inserted in the contract.
Do you guys think it would be better if the team had an option to contour the contract instead of matching it exactly word for word. That could benefit the player because he can would gain leverage in the contract negotiation and it would get rid of the poison pill which i think is one of the most shady things you can do.
They should of looked into this right after the whole Hutchinson thing that went down a couple years ago.
