Just thinking of this record-setting defensive ineptitude and couldn't help thinking of the investments made on that side of the ball, and the complete lack of return.

DeMarcus Ware - his production versus contract

Brandon Carr - the $50 million invested in him

Morris Claiborne - 1st and 2nd round picks and $4 million per year for this?

Two second round picks on Carter and Lee, and Lee's new multi-year contract?

How many millions spent on both Spencer and Ratliff with less than nothing to show for it?

And whatever amount of money is being wasted on Monte Kiffin and his antiquated defense.

(Funny, it doesn't look like Seattle's?)

People can give whatever reasons and excuses that they want, but for pure return on investment, I don't think I've ever seen worse.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see you or any others complaining about those players BEFORE this season. We sure could have used your crystal ball. Many thought Ware would flourish even more under Kiffin and the 4-3. Almost all thought Carter would have a breakout year and Lee would be very good and hopefully avoid the injury bug which has hit him the past two years. Many thought Claiborne and Carr would do would do well with Kiffin's tendency toward press coverage. Ratliff had his groupies here who talked about how he was going to be good and thrive as the 1-technique or 3-technique or whatever it was they were talking about. And just as many thought Spencer would have a good year and some even thought a better year than Ware possible.

Yeah, we get it. The defense has underperformed. Ain't nobody throwing us a pity party. Are you just here to vent your frustration with the results? Shall we all cry over spilt milk? I don't think anyone saw this train wreck of a defense coming, even the so-called experts. Hindsight is 20-20. Return on investments are not guaranteed and come with a HUGE disclaimer stating so when you deal with a broker buying stocks and bonds. These players are not stocks but more like volatile commodities subject to huge market corrections.

By the way, that is a nice big picture of Jerry Jones with a nice quote you have there.

Hey, Jerry's doing some of his best work.

Yeah, it's a shame that we don't have the search capability any more, but is hear it's returning soon.

Many folks had and voiced concerns, and some pretty good alternatives.

Many fans believed what they wanted to believe, a common symptom of fandom.

Underperformed is too kind a description for what this is. Shall we instead 'move on' and stick our heads in the as hand act like it isn't happening? I know it's not an enjoyable subject, but that doesn't mean I'm going to shy away from it or pretend it's not there. As for the players, I see several self-inflicted mistakes that could have been avoided by people whose job it is to know better.

By the way, that is a nice big picture of Jerry Jones with a nice quote you have there.

Thanks, hopefully I've made it a bit smaller now.

:D

This is what happens when your ship lacks a rudder or a sober captain. You get random players who don't mesh with the current system...then for good measure, you knee jerk change the system every few years randomly.

Ineptness. The Jones family generally isn't well thought of by the football guys around the league.

That depends if you're on the payroll or hope to be.

Those guys sing their praises!

Yeah, I'm sure you got all those right AND who we should have drafted too. If you did, good for you. You know more than even most NFL experts. You missed your calling.:)

Point is, most were on board with the decisions made for the most part. Myself, I was against extending RATliff and franchising Spencer. Other than that, I thought most of the other decicions were pretty decent at the time.

If that's the case, then you WERE one of the ones questioning those decisions. Those are two of the biggest goofs right there. The problem is that the Male Cheerleaders Anonymous are the ones shouting the longest and the loudest.
