Road team always gets first possession of OT.

Home team guaranteed a possession after a Road team score, no matter FG or TD.

Both teams must go for 2 after the TD.

If the score is still tied after both teams have had a possession, Sudden Death begins.

Sounds good to me.
NFL will like it as it extends the game and TV time.

I don't know what the answer is, but I don't like one team not getting the ball in OT.

I think how they have it right now is more than fair. Going from sudden death to what we have now. Defense is part of the game, if a team can't stop the other from scoring a TD then game over. With how it is now if you can't stop the TD you actually get a big advantage in that you have 4 downs to get a tying FG or TD to win it.

I don't think they should have another coin flip at the start of OT. Base it on the winner of the opening coin flip.

With this approach, you know at the end of the 4th if you will have the ball in OT or not. Gives more incentive to break the tie than just run out the clock.

Once in OT, keep the rules as they are. I understand not wanting to go the college route and have an endless overtime.

The fundamental flaw with the OT system is that the team going second gets to use 4 downs to get a first. All game long it is 3 downs and now they have 4 downs because they are behind. The team going first still has to punt on 4th down. They fixed one problem but created a whole new one.

Interesting idea. Losing coin flip team probably goes for two if an extra point only ties it

Good point, and I've always thought the same way, when you know as a team you have 4 downs to get only 10 yards (assuming you have time) it really Is an advantage, no doubt
