It comes down to size, upside and experience IMO. Jackson possesses all three traits.

Yeah.

A couple of these guys are just too small.

I will never understand this line of thinking about size.

I think they are only trying to sign Jackson because of Costa's injury. Based on comments from Stephen and Jerry, they appeared content with Costa as the starter and Bernadeau as the backup prior to Costa's injury.

It appears that Jason Brown has received the most interest from other teams.

Brown is younger than Jackson and started last year; however, with multiple teams having an interest in him, he will be more expensive, IMO.

My guess is that they want to sign Jackson on the cheap and keep the option of cutting him prior to the season.
If he gets a signing bonus, then they're planning to keep him, IMO.

Give me Brown, Gurode or Faine. All three are better than what we have at this point.

The problem I have with Jackson is he didn't play last year and is not in football shape.

Jason Brown is the only one that makes much sense. He is the only one with the size we want that is still young.

Weigman, Romberg and Faine are smallish, although I would give Faine a chance over any of the rest.

Gurode and Jackson are fat guys that can't move any more and Gurode was one of the poorest shotgun snappers around.

The best option for Sept. 5th is Bernardeau at center and Leary or Dockery at guard.

How many years have we been complaining about the offensive line?

Yeah, I'd agree with this. And the OL has been an issue for sometime now. It's Tyron Smith and a bunch of question marks.

Agreed. I wish the team would swallow their pride and sign Holland to be the starter at RG for one more year. He had an amazing workout and seems ready to go. Put Bern at center and get your 5 best OL on the field.

After researching those names, I have decided that Casey Weigmann would be perfect. If he still wants to play, that's who I would go get. The guy has been a highly rated center and even though he is old, his play has not dropped off the cliff. He has started 175 straight games. That's what we need right now. A pretty good veteran that is durable and can snap to Romo without it hitting the ground or making Romo work to get the ball and throwing off the timing of the play. We aren't looking for a long term solution at this point. The time for that is after cut downs or the off season. Right now we just need a calming influence on the position and Weigmann would be just that. I don't care about his age or size at this point. He has been getting the job done for over 10 years straight now. I'd give him the shot to do it for one more year in Dallas if he wants it.
