If Jerry wasn't a dumb drunk and Jimmy had stayed it would have altered the timing whereabouts of one Erik Williams and the car accident and season ending injury wouldn't have happened. See not having Erik Williams in that championship game against the Niners is most of the reason for the loss. Larry Allen just wasn't ready to be out there at tackle as a rookie. Now there is one more big thing that might have happened and if Jimmy could have retained Ken Norton Jr. and not allowed the pendulum to shift to the Niners I actually believe there is an excellent chance the 94 team doesn't lose a game or would have possibly only lost to San Fran at home which would've given us home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
See we did lose to the Lions in overtime with Erik Williams still on the team but if we had Norton and Jimmy there is no way (shouldn't say no way cause Barry was a beast), but most likely Barry doesn't run wild against us with those 2 still here. Pretty sure we could have won that one.
Onto San Fran in week 11. With Erik Williams and Norton playing and Jimmy the coach I don't see the same outcome against the Niners. I think we win that one too.
Cleveland and NYG where our only other 2 loses. NYG we rested starters and was a give away game and I am certain we could've taken care of the Browns at home in what was a close game.
Onto the playoffs. We demolished GB at home with NO problem and had we gotten the Niners at home the next week there is little doubt in my mind that don't win that game by 2 scores and we all know the super bowl against the Chargers woulda been a piece of cake.
So thank your drunken owner for not getting a shot at an undefeated 94 team and a 3-4 peat, what a piece of scum.

Yes. Your owner destroyed a dynasty to appease his own ego. No owner in the history of sports would ever dream of doing that.

He grew envious of Jimmy and all the attention he was getting. That was really the crux behind everything that happened. An attention hoe who isn't getting the attention he thinks he should be getting will make rash (or devastating) decisions.

And now fast forward 27 years later.......

So that's what Jerry Jones is really all about. Himself. Not winning.

Anyone singularly focused on winning does everything possible to keep that dynasty in place.

I can't even talk about this. I legit hate that guy. And his family.

Well, Allen was also playing on 1 leg that day.

I think Emmitt was nursing a hammy as well

He was and he left the game in the 3rd quarter. Allen was playing with a bad ankle.
All of those factors with 3 straight turnovers to start the game and a non PI call that should have been called, Cowboys only lost by 10 and had a chance to steal the game. A more focused Cowboys team under Jimmy would have been interesting to see. The odds of 3 straight would have been higher.
Again Jerrah’s ego was more important. After making the right move to hire Jimmy he has done nothing but destroy the Cowboys legacy since.

It was the very beginning of Free Agency and the Cowboys were picked apart

Cowboys would have signed Dieon that year if NIKE didn't step in

It was a very sloppy field and the Cowboys put themselves in a Hole
And yet . . if that pass interference is called momentum defiantely shifts . . . It was amazing how Irvin always owned Dieon

You deserve 100 likes for that one. I regret that I have but one to give.

No he doesn't. He's a 'like' hoe...... he has more than enough of them.

One day soon he's going to have to change his sig. He's gonna cry real big boy tears too.

That was a great time period to be a Cowboys fan regardless how 94 ended. I would presume you're right if Jimmy stayed we could have maybe hit 4 in a row.

When that game is mentioned I feel nothing but pain. It was just a whole series of events that unfolded and we lost. All we can do is accept it. I still haven't accepted it though.

We have the distinct advantage of no middle man between the head coach and the owner. Allowing us to make bad decisions more quickly.
^ This. Additionally, a true general manager increases the players' perception of the head coach's authority and decreases any sense of influence from the guy signing their checks. While Mike Brown and his general managership of the Bengals is notable, Cincinnati's success last season was atypical and an outliner.

Players need as much leadership focus as humanly possible playing team sports. It is a longstanding perception by players that their head coach's leadership should be a reflection of their level of play. That player perception has been split in Dallas since Jimmy Johnson left.

It improved somewhat during the Bill Parcells' years but it was a bit shaded even then. Jerry Jones casts a very long deep thick shadow over his own team.

We could have had 4 straight Lombardis.
Oh well, it's water over the dam...

And thats why Jimmy isn't in the Ring, Jerry want's to win a Bowl that he thinks he can claim as his own and put himself in the ring either before or maybe at the same time.. Pretty sad really

Exactly the point I’ve been driving here. We shouldn’t accept it anymore and media shouldn’t allow him a free pass either

I think emmitt was good by then he tore apart the pakcers the week before

No he was still hampered with the hamstring and left the game for good in the 3rd quarter. He tweaked it in the Packers game.
