Might be on par with Kenyon Green as a run blocker with zero technique. Needs work in pass protection, but that can be hidden better inside at Guard during his development. Has legitimate upside as a future blindside Left Tackle. This kid has gotten zero coaching on the college level, if Joe Philbin can turn Steele into a serviceable starter. what could he do with an elite trait athlete. Smith has to be in consideration with the likes of Zion and Green. Rumor has it the Titans are eyeing him at 26.

I like him and his potential but if the Titans want him at 26? They can have him. He has to be torn down and I'm not using a 1st round pick on a project.

My thing with Smith is…
-He won’t be the best guard available at 24
-There are other high potential OT’s you can get much later

Would be a great pick in the 2nd round but no way at 24

He is like a NBA draft pick outside of top 3, you draft him for a huge upside potential. Question is, is he coachable, does he want to be great? I still with an entire offseason he could be an impact starter at LG and replace Tyron at LT in 2023. No doubt there is risk, but could be a massive reward.

No doubt. He’s certainly intriguing. I just took him at 56 in a mock draft AFTER I got Kenyon Green at #32.

I agree, much more comfortable taking him in rd 2, but it appears that is looking unlikely. I also don't think Green/Zion are locks to be available at pick 24, despite their positions.

Very controversial guy, some think he has the potential to be all-pro LT and he needs only like 1 year to learn. Others think he is so raw and unproven there is no way to tell if he will ever make it in the NFL. About as low floor/high ceiling as you can get in this draft.

If they’re gone, they’re gone. That’s why they should be signing a free agent guard.

Yeah. The definition of a Boom or Bust draft pick.

Green also has issues with too many penalties.

As a LT…could be wrong, but I don’t think penalties were an issue when he played inside. Symptom of a guy 1/2 a step too slow being asked to play LT in the SEC I would imagine

Good analogy. Could be Giannis or Joker at best. At worse any of the Knicks draft picks.:facepalm:

A fair argument for Green is that he played multiple positions that cause he high rate of penalties committed. It's an area he need to correct. Moving inside, should help.

I have him as a second rounder. He could be a future Pro-Bowler if he harnesses his talent, but he's a project and I don't take projects at #24. Would consider him in the second though.

I think they still have a good amount of cap space, even before Collins comes off the books. I think they will be very active in that post draft FA period. I could see them add two or even three starterish type players after June 1
