Rewatching Bradie James pound the ball into the Endzone

On our first punt. Parcells said something about him last year, that he just can't seem to slow himself down.
That's such a bad job - there's 3 guys there all surrounding the ball - which hits softly on the ground and isn't going anywhere. That is until - he runs smack into it.

From what I remember Condo knocked the ball back towards James and it went off his leg.

Mat McBriar lofted a beautiful punt into the air after the Cowboys’ first drive stalled and dropped it at around the 2 yard line. Bradie James then proceeded to fall all over himself (as always) and knocked the ball backwards into the end-zone. I always knew this wasn’t a disciplined team, but those are not excusable mistakes. The ensuing drive would see the 49ers march 80 yards and score off a 15 yard strike from Tim Rattay to Arnaz Battle. You can blame the defense, but I’m blaming the special teams for not allowing the Niners’ drive to start inside their own 5-yard line.

Yes, that botched ST play gave the niners a start and everything snowballed from there.

Falling all over himself as always?

He has been our best ST player for some time...
*Take a closer look, he was knocked into the ball by another player...

Just my opinion, but along with Keith Davis, Bradie James looks like a weak link on this defense.

How many plays has he made?

He looks lost out there. He looks like a big, physical, reasonably talented guy who lacks instincts and football intelligence.

A classic example is the fumbled ball that was on the ground right next to him in the second half. The ball could have been lodged in his facemask and he couldn't have found it.

And we he finally did notice he nearly caused SF to get it back because he knocked it away from Dat.

He got blown up by one of the linemen on the first drive, knocked back like 3 yards.

Just don't see what everybody likes about him. Unless of course what they like about him is all "on paper".

Chief: His back was to the ball and then quickly turned around... he caused the fumble...

BZ, he didn't even come close to knocking it away from dat? Beer googles still on?

He is a very good player, who would benefit from being allowed to force more of the action...

Are you basing that claim off your own observations, or that of others?

While I agree James hasn't really stepped forward and been a force on the football field. In fairness they showed the ST play from a endzone angle which clearly show that Condon batted the ball straight into James's leg and because he was running it knocked the ball into the endzone.

Total BS, a new low.

He did not have his back to the ball, he did not cause the fumble, and the freaking ball was between his knees when Dat pulled it in, James then realized it was there and grabbed for the ball and it came out of Dat's hands for a split second.

But when have you ever let the facts get in the way?

He's basing it on hating Dat and having a man-crush on James. Dat can do nothing right and James can do no wrong in HH's eyes.

Too bad reality does not enter those eyes.;)

BZ, now I know why they call you BLIND!

Take another LOOK at the play...It was behind James, then turned around to pull it in...When he saw Dat grab it, he let go...He NEVER knocked it out of his hands...Whats your Agenda?

Please get a new set of coke bottle glasses, your old scrip isn't good enough...Or watch golf when the Boys play

you evidently didnt really look at the play. it looks like james runs into it, but if you actually saw the play or replay you can see another person bump the ball off of James.

Off of pure memory, It was behind him.

It was strange looking.

Someone must have yelled "ball", then he whipped around for it.

Nope, just close your eyes and visualize James on his knees looking straight ahead toward the sidelines, the ball is on the ground directly in front of him, Dat comes in from his right and pulls in the ball, James finally looks down and goes after the ball at that point.

3 of us were watching the game yelling, "Fumble, pick it up!"

We all noticed that he had no idea the ball was on the ground, and when they showed the replay, it was clear that he nearly kept Dat from recovering it too.

From those of us in the stands we were looking around going "does the guy even notice the balls on the ground".

Back to the original e-mail...Stupid special teams play...Bradie needs to start stepping up, maybe he is being mentored by the Ghost Singleton (well at least Al has a sneaky way of getting the ball once in awhile by chance)...

Perfectly stated. I feel exactly the same way. :hammer:
