Here is my thinking on the Pats game.

The Jets play New England this week and win or loose will give them a good game. Then Rex will share everything he can with brother Rob to help the Cowboys beat the Pats.

There's no question Rex will help Rob in any way to beat the Pats. But I think we have a chance taking that factor out of the equation. This game will be determined by mistakes. When healthy, we're as tough to defend as any team out there. The Patriots dont exactly have a sticky defense and they're going to be missing their best player in Mayo.

Rob will see everything he needs to see off the tape. He doesn't need his brother to tell him what's happening on the field.

I'm sure Rex will share his insights with Rob. That goes without saying. but I'm sure if asked they would both deny it.

I wonder if New England still trades with us to get Dez if Rob was already on our staff. How much does he hate the Ryan brothers?

Exactly. We don't need Rex's help to beat NE. Their defense is *horrible* and they lost Mayo. Rob beat NE last year when he was with Cleveland. Yes, I know the game is at New England but I won't be surprised one bit if we win that game. Our offense can hang with them no problem... their defense cannot hang with our defense.

I don't think we need Rex's help. Dallas is the reason Dallas has a chance.

We're as good as anybody in the league. We just have to cut down on the game-breaking plays.

I don't think Beli hates Rob Ryan. Rob was his LB coach and did a very good job.

Rob Ryan's defense confused and stifled New England's offense last year, with an inferior defensive unit, so I'm pretty sure he believes he can do it again. I don't think he really needs his brother's help.

Do you or anybody happen to have Brady's stats from that game? And breese's, when he played rob? Curios.

I really believe this. Good post.

Same old story.

I've probably posted this same line a hundred times the last 4 or 5 years.

Brady vs. Cleveland: 2 TDs, 0 INT, 19 completions on 36 pass attempts - 52.7% completion percentage, 224 passing yards, and a 90.5 QB rating. Brady had a solid game overall, but he barely completed over half his passes. Rob Ryan's defense held the Patriots to only 14 points, which was their lowest scoring output of the season. Rob Ryan earned his paycheck in this game.

Brees vs. Cleveland: 2 TDS, 4 INTs, 37 completions on 56 pass attempts - 66.1% completion percentage, 356 passing yards, and a 65.8 QB rating. Brees threw for a ton of yards, which is to be expected since he threw the ball 56 times. Rob Ryan's defense held the Saints to 17 points. Rob Ryan's defense again rose to the challenge.

I think Dallas has a chance because they're the better balanced team.

Just don't go in with the mindset that we *have* to score 40 and it could be ok.

This isn't the New England team that we faced the last time.

I couldn't agree more.....

What is rex going to tell him, hey rob, number 12 on the pats, is a pretty good player. Rob is perfectally capable of watching the game film and figuring things out. It comes down to not turning the ball over, our offense should be able to put of points at will on the pats, their defense isn't very good.

I'm sure he'll be more worried about his next game then helping Rob win

Yeah, in 2007 I knew in my gut we weren't gonna beat them. This time I feel the game will be very close. Our defense is the difference this time.

I am not so sure about that.

I could see Rex saying, "yeah, I asked Rob. I did, he is my brother and there is nothing wrong with doing so"

:laugh2:
