The initial report said McCoy would be the starter, depending on Griffin's health and how he is able to practice. But everyone including ESPN ran with McCoy to start Monday night. The Commanders will keep this a mystery until Monday night.
In terms of impact on the game, probably minimal either way. If they want to implement a read-option gameplan for Griffin just coming off a broken leg, go for it.

I doubt they want to do that with Ro McClain on the prowl and the way we gain tackle.

Bring it on. I don't want skins fans to have no excuses.

A Commander fan sent me this.

Play him. Don't care. The Skins still stink, RG3 still stinks and they need to be more worried about us and not the other way around.

Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington reports there's "NO chance" Robert Griffin III (ankle) plays Monday night's Week 8 game against the Cowboys.

RGIII took the first rep at Wednesday's practice, but the Commanders don't start their official practice week until Thursday this week because of Monday night's game. Coach Jay Gruden made Colt McCoy instead of RGIII available to the media, and said he wants to have a starter in place by Thursday afternoon, suggesting it will be McCoy. RGIII will shoot for a Week 9 return at Minnesota.

@NBCdianna Per mulitple sources there is NO chance RG3 plays on Monday night against Dallas. #Commanders

If I was in charge I would prepare for RG3 and then just play against McCoy. I don't think McCoy offers anything special that you have to game plan for. Frankly, RG3 hasn't either for some time, but he is still better than McCoy.

As it turns out, none of the 3 QB's offer anything special. RGIII wont even be healthy.

Go ahead... rush him back.... AGAIN!!!

As Pierre Garcon said today "It's not like we were winning before", meaning they stunk with him and they stink without him

RGIII playing might have concerned me a few years ago but I think his biggest issues now are in his head not his physical injuries. I'll tell you what....I would much rather face a rusty RG3 than McCoy right now. McCoy is the more dangerous player but you just hope Washington tries to force the issue with RG3.

this.

If they play him that means Gruden wants a new QB.
If the Cowboys finish him off.... the whole organization will have their feet to the fire for a long time.

And somewhere... Shanahan will be shaking his head saying.... Dumb Muffers!

If their media is like our media he is back to his pro bowl level and will play.
