The 3rd CB is going to be critical in the playoffs.

  • Length is a big issue vs the Bucs
    • WR Mike Evans is 6-5 with ~35" arms.
    • WR Julio Jones is 6-3 with ~34" arms.

Dan Quinn says that Xavier Rhodes looked good in practice and picked up the scheme very quickly.

Rhodes has good overall length and a surprisingly large wingspan.

  • Xavier Rhodes: 6'1-1/2", 210, arm length 33-3/4", wingspan 79-1/8"
  • Anthony Brown: 5'11-1/4", 196, arm length 31-3/4", wingspan 75-1/2"
  • Nahshon Wright 6'4-1/4", 200, arm length 32-7/8", wingspan 77-7/8" (Weight based on camp interview with Wright)

  • For reference: Xavier Rhodes vs Anthony Brown
    • +2-1/4" height
    • +2" arm length
    • +3-5/8" wingspan

How much athleticism has Julio lost?
  • Julio Jones 2011 draft
    • 4.34 forty (hand timed)
    • 6.66 3-cone
    • 6'2-7/8", 220
    • 33-3/4" arm length

  • Mike Evans 2014 draft
    • 4.46 forty (hand timed)
    • 7.08 3-cone
    • 6'4-7/8", 231
    • 35-1/8" arm length

To me it’s just the speed and the ability to make circus catches.

The receiver I'm more worried about is Godwin. He is the key player to stop. Actually think we are better equipped facing the so called big receiver then the speed guy.

Evan’s ran an official time of 4.53!

Forget the matchups. The Bucs will force matchups based on their formations and motion.

The Cowboys need to focus on one thing and that is getting in Brady's face and knocking him to the ground. Especially if the Bucs are in passing situations. If they let him have a pocket with no pressure he will find the open guy and hit him.

When the Cowboys are on offense they have to do better than 3 and out.

So it should be Diggs on Evans, Bland who I'd like as cb2 will actually be more helpful in the slot vs Godwin.

Then we can put Rhodes, Wright or KJ on the shell of Julio Jones. Don't get me wrong, he can still destroy defenses on any given week. That said, this ain't the Julio we've come to know.

I agree.

I think Rhodes is likely your starter with Bland at slot and waiting in the wings to play CB2 if needed.

DOESN'T MATTER OUR GUYS ARE NEVER IN POSITION TO MAKE PLAYS on the ball, they'll be caught with their backs to the ball, FLAG or big play!!

Julio is only good for 2 plays before he injuries himself. Gage will be their 3.

You didn't create a new thread to express that thought...
