rich gooselin was on dfw sports beat;

The goose still sees the cowboys in 3rd place in the nfc east divsion, due to the eagles and giants going out getting players in free agency, big time players and have a number 1 & 2 picks, while the cowboys didnt.

But the goose also said, the cowboys should focus on running the football, take pressure off of romo, roy williams, defense, jason garrett and wade phillips. They can get to the playoffs the goose said, if they commit to the run.

brady tinker asked the goose about spencer, goose said spencer is going to have to be the player the cowboys think he is, going to have to step up for the defense. Goose also said, scandrick must step up and be a big time player like spencer for the cowboys to do anything.

brady floated around a rumor he heard about vick being seen in some big time dallas cowboys hotel, and trying to keep it quiet. The goose said, basically, players like vick will have rumors about them in any town. So, i think the goose was saying dont worry about vick in dallas. Take it for whatever its meant.

hopefully my good buddy Dc or theebs can put up the podcast.

The goose is well known as a very good writer and gives excellent work on the draft and coverage.

Finally, they talked about using barber, felix, and choice. Goose said, right now in regards to brady tinker asking cowboys why wont you say you will use all 3 running backs, but no cowboys official would commit to that. Goose said basically that deals with egos, that barber wants at least 18 carries, but if you use 3 running backs, it cuts down on barbers carries.

That with all the nicks and bruises rbs get, that most likely the cowboys will use all 3 rbs, and they should. That should take the cowboys to the playoffs, must commit to the run.

Someone please tell me how the Giants got so much better in the off-season than we did.

Lost - Plax, Ward, Toomer

Gained - Canty, Bernard, LB from Falcons

#1 pick was a WR, most of the time it takes 3 years for a WR to become a legit #1 WR

did these sportswriters not see the last 5 games to include the playoffs that the Giants played, they finished 1-4. They have as many questions about there team as do the cowboys.

He is ready to step in and play now. Then the goose said that with the young wrs they have now, they are all number 2 and 3 picks, they are ready to play in the system.

Goose also said that the giants will do like we will, mainly run the ball to take pressure off of eli manning. And allow their top notch defense ready to take over games. That the giants will have the best one two punch at rb in the NFL. However, the goose also went on to say that the cowboys have the best 1, 2 3 punch of the running backs in the NFL. Hope that helps.

My guess is most people view the Giants as a better team becuase they have a roster full of guys that not only have won a playoff game but a Super Bowl. Not to mention they won 12 games last year to Dallas' 9 and they have a defense that has shown the ability to take over games and offensively have an o-line that pounded teams into submission in the run game to the tune of 200 yards per game.

But once they lost their #1 WR they went 1-4. They lost Ward who was a 1,000 yard rusher. No way they have the best 1, 2 RB tandum in the league with Jacobs/Bradshaw or the rookie from NC State. Jacobs has yet to play 16 games in a season.

Nicks will not replace Plax and be a #1 this year. I'll take RW over any of there WR's this year.

Goose thinks the Giants have the best 1-2 rb punch in the league. What a pile of crap.

They also have their big stud on Defense coming back from his knee injury that played with Demarcus, and Hixon is starting to understand how the game is being played. Osi coming back is a big deal.

yep, the big battle i see is the eagles with their good offensive line now, playing the giants big tough defense, now whatever or whomever wins the superbowl, I dont know. But the games between the eagles and giants will be a big huge game to watch.

Also, what could happen, the giants and eagles beat each other up during the regular season, then we sneak in for the playoffs and beat them.

With the Giants losing their top WRs and their #2 running back as well as the Eagles losing one of the best defensive coordinators of a generation I think the NFC East is pretty wide open. Except for the #4 slot which the Commanders I think have a choke hold on with their current QB.
