Richard comments on coaching opportunitites

Have to wonder if the interview process during the playoffs pulled him away of preparing the defense the right way ahead of the Rams game. I understand that the hiring cycle is happening concurrently to the playoffs-- but is it a coincidence that our worst performance in the ground game comes when Rod takes back playcalling responsibilities for that game?

I like the guy and understand his career is ahead of him-- just don't want this same thing to happen again next year as I'm sure if the defense continues to improve his name will once again be a hot commodity.

Hoping to keep this guy at least 2 more years. He's heads above anything we've had for years. . .

Hopefully he's part of the reason Garrett hasn't received an extension yet. . .

The guy everyone seems to love says DAL is a, "first class organization," and wouldn't leave just because of an offer. This doesn't jibe with what I usually read here.

What is he going to say? Trash his employer in public? That is not what you do when you are trying to move up the coaching ranks. Richard is a tad smarter than the likes of Cole Beasley.

Surprised JG hasn't tried to push him out yet because he threatens his job. The 'ol Callahan treatment.
OMG totally!

I think he sabotaged the defensive game plan against the Rams. I don’t know how yet but I will think of something.

Nope. It didn't make a difference, other than maybe a little lost sleep.

Yep, because employees are always publicly honest about their bosses

Considering many ex players and coaches have all said the same thing. I think you are reaching a bit. Heck Bill Parcells said working with Jerry isnt even close to what the media and outsiders make it seem.

From the article.

I don't know how it is that you went to college, Dez, and don't understand it isn't don't but doesn't.

Colleges don't care about academics when it comes to $$$, I mean high profile sports.
Some college athletes don't care about academics when it looks like they can play professionally in their sport.

This is the fault of the team and the NFL. Teams, under no circumstances, should be allowed to interview team personnel if they are still playing. There is a rule that states, teams have to give permission for other teams to conduct interviews but honestly, have they ever policed that? What happens to a team if they say no to an interview process? It immediately puts them in a bad position to retain said coach. I mean, this needs to be changed and the NFL needs to make it a rule that takes the team out of the permission process.

...if you're seeing the man above you on a warm seat, I would give out the party line as well. He's not even officially the DC, and got removed from that position just a couple seasons ago. He needs to stay quiet for now, at least.
