I would be happy with a solid interior OL, the possibility that the kid also play some tackle is a bonus. Anything that enables us to run inside effectively will improve our offense, and the T.O.P. gains will surely make the defense better.

I wish the Cowboys a productive Draft today. Go get us an OL, ILB, S, and a slot receiver Jerry!

Maybe "Eugene" Chung will slip one more spot to us.

He's a little long in the tooth now, though, and not as big as Houck likes.

I guess God was playing a little joke on Goose.

Anyone see Mike Mayock's rankings? He has Moreno the 4th best prospect and Harvin 5th I believe.

If Sidbury is still on the board and the Cowboys take Levitre, I'm gonna do something ugly... for that matter, if they take Levitre at pick 51, my dog probably won't come near me for 2 or 3 days...

I saw the Richmond kid twice last season, including a home loss to JMU. He was just another guy on the field, and at that level, I'm not at all impressed.

Levitre is definitely a JAG (just another guy). Dallas should trade down if Levitre is highest rated guy left on their board at 51. Dallas has already used a 5th round pick for Holland as versatile guard who might push Kosier.

Did Dallas even bring in Levitre for a look? Where did Goose have Alex Mack going?

I say Parcells drafts Mack. He loves centers and Mack sounds exactly like his kind of player.

I have to admit, I'd be disappointed with Levitre at 51.

I'd try to trade down, instead.

We've got at least something at Guard depth. The main weakness on our OL is at OT. I really would attempt to trade down.

Not only that, but at 305 lbs., he doesn't seem to fit the roadgrader size that Houck would like at OG.

They signed Jake Grove from Oak to a big contract, as well as Al Johnson. Nope, no center in Miami.

I gotta say, I just don't see Sanchez dropping that far. Maybe if there were no trades I could see it. But if he's there at Jacksonville's pick, I think there will be plenty of suitors trying to trade up for him.

Yeah, I Agree, we could drop a few spots and get him, but in this mock why not trade up a few spots for Chung, or is the thinking we could get Hamlin in the 3rd?.

I think the Cowboys would also be happy with McBath in the 3rd or the 4th. Perhaps even R Johnson in the 3rd.

(By the way, as a side note, just saw that Rashad's first name is actually Julian. I hadn't seen that before . . . . )

WR Kenny Mckinley, South Carolina

McKinley is a player. Great hands. Gets separation. Experienced. Should be a good 2 or 3 for a reasonable career. What round is he projected to by most? I'm still hoping for OL/LOS/front seven first.

Gosselin’s Final Mock Has A Few Surprises
Posted by Mike Florio on April 25, 2009, 12:48 p.m.

Though guys like Mel Kiper and Mike Mayock get more press for their mock drafts, the guy who is regarded by the folks who cover football as the authority when it comes to making out a mock draft is Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News.

Gosselin’s final mock draft is right here.

We’ve got a few quick takes.

First, we’d be shocked if the Browns take Michael Crabtree at No. 5. It would be one of the best smokescreens of all time, given that they recently put out the word that they were close to taking him off the board because of his “diva” attitude when he visited the team.

We agree with Michael Oher at No. 10 to the Niners. They need a tackle, and he’s the best one available at the time. But we wouldn’t be surprised if the Niners slide down.

Brian Orakpo slides deep into the second ten, and it’s no surprise. He’s this year’s Vernon Gholston.

It will be a shock if Josh Freeman is on the board at No. 22 — and if the Vikings end up taking him at that point.

Eric Wood to the Steelers at No. 32 is a good call. Though the “experts” have Alex Mack higher, Wood has been generating more buzz as the draft approaches. (Gosselin also has Max Unger even higher than both of them.)

The Bills may be able to get Unger in round 2. I don't know.

You should be able to get Levitre in round 3. We shall see.

:starspin I have to agree. While we could use some help along the OL, I just don't see Levitre being worth the 51st pick. I would prefer to see us trade down, if we can find a dance partner at that point in time.
