I don't think they will either, and they shouldn't because as I've said many times, Smith isn't a Top 10 talent.

We are in position to trade down, acquire extra picks and still come away with an NFL caliber RT. If we were in the market for LT, then I would say yeah, maybe we should just risk it, but I don't think Smith is as separated from the rest of the pack of tackles as many think.

His first of three mocks is never accurate anyway...it's not even meant to be.

Otherwise, I think Goose has one of the best track records of all national sport writers for picking the 1st round (but that is based on his thrid and final mock on draft day). I'm not sure how he did last year though.

I think that if you take anything away from the Tyron Smith thing, it's that we won't take him at 9. I don't believe anybody said that we would not draft him at all.

So I guess the new consensus is that the Cowboys will definitely attempt to trade down to no further than 16/17 in Round 1.

They will target T Smith, Solder, Costanzo, C Jordan, Watt, or Prince most likely.

this is true

last year there was a site that graded the bigtime Mockers Goose basically blew them away - there was one guy close to him

but I would like see his last ten picks just for Dallas

and to do that for 32 teams - I could not do it and would not attempt it

hell its hard enough to do it just for Dallas

I wouldnt bust his balls though. He is stating that as a prediction. Now he seems pretty confident Tyron isnt good enough in their opinion from them to not trade down and get him/Castqnzo/Carimi later

Mosley is normally really tuned in to what we're doing with the early picks, so maybe he's right.

Then again maybe somebody is telling him this in the hopes that he'll do exactly what he is doing, blab it to everyone.
