KFFL reports that Dolphins running back Ricky Williams expects to be reinstated following a banishment from the league for repeated violations of the substance abuse policy.
There's currently no further information as to when the reinstatement is expected to occur. It previously has been reported that Williams would be eligible for reinstatement at some point in April 2007.
Reinstatement would mean that Williams has passed any and all random drug tests imposed upon him by the league during his time away from the NFL.
Whether the Dolphins will want him on the team remains to be seen. Coach Cam Cameron has indicated that he'll take up the issue after Williams is formally back in the business. At a low salary and with some gas still in the tank, there's no reason for the Fins not to keep him around, unless they're simply fed up with the distractions he has caused and want a fresh start.
Given his affordable salary, he could generate some interest in the trade market from one of the teams that currently needs a tailback.

As long as that team isn't the Dallas Cowboys.

good, hopefully he hasn't smartened up one bit and gets tested weekly......idiot doesn't deserve chance after chance. Please pop one more time so you can be kicked out for good.

Maybe we can trade Julius and Coakley for him. I say get him right now! Sign Stephanoski to keep an eye on him!

Maybe Step can teach him how NOT to get caught.

The guy needs money- apparently he blew everything he had on weed. So desperation might shape him up for a while at least. Thing is: he has a lot of mileage on him; got the ball a lot in college and a lot in the pros; so just how much gas has he got left in the tank?

no one on earth has ever blown everything they had on weed, unless they had very very little to begin with.
His latest suspension was not weed related either.

Between the weed and all his traveling, and what he was doing, its very possible he blew a lot of what he had. And just for info purposes, weed can get very expensive depending on where you are. Over a period of years it can add up to quite a bit.

Sounds like the voice of experience.

I'm pretty sure the Dolphins got ALOT of money back from him. Plus, he has a ton of kids I think.

Well it's Dallas Cowboy ...but how would you feel about him becoming an Eagle if the opportunity presented itself?

With the OL and surrounding cast of offensive players currently on the Eagles, Ricky would Be an awesome help to McNabb and Westbrook. That's that big back we're looking for and the depth we nee in the RB squad.

Realistically, I know that the Eagles probably would not want to take the chance and pay Miami any compensation. Just looking at the possibility.
