Rico Dowdle has certainly earned some respect as a serviceable back. Is he a #1 back? In my opinion, no. I do think he’s a good change of pace type runner who should get 6-10 carries a game when paired with a back we (hopefully) get in the draft next spring.

He is on this team he literally could have easily had probably 4100 yard games had he been utilized properly this is how Mike McCarthy trying to play around the first six or seven games of the season with a evaluation to figure out who to use when after the Pittsburgh game it should have been obvious and yet he iced Rico every time he looked good the next game he hardly got any carries or in the first half he looked good and he hardly get any carries in the second-half this is on Mike McCarthy he may not be a an elite number one but tell me how it is that Kareem hunt who's about on the same level right now as Rico and so is naji Harris isn't doing anything spectacular how are those teams winning so much with their allegedly not #1 backs in the NFL I've even seen shanahan's 49ers their backup running back whatever his name is Jones he's hurt now he look good he had a couple 100 yard games this isn't about having an elite back but that is the number one running back on this team this year he should have been getting 20 to 25 carries at least ever since the pittsburgh game.

Yeah he's turning some heads now but most of us saw this last year in my opinion last year Rico should have got all Tony carriess and then vice versa he was not used properly Rico should have been used like a cheap version of zeke last year and this year and let Tony come up behind him and get the fresh leg big plays this is all on Mike McCarthy in my opinion this all started with that need for the running back by committee but the decision should have been made long before the Thanksgiving game to stick with one player and just feed him.. The experimenting should have stopped immediately after that Pittsburgh game but we saw this last year when Rico is healthy given more carries like most of the backs like him they get better as the game goes on and that goes for stringing and stacking week to week they get more comfortable you literally ice your own player this is what happens fans think we don't have a good running back and he is a very good running back he is not elite I would like a Gibbs type to go with a guy like him a true home run hitter and then you use those two guys off each other we need that we miss that but Rico is plenty enough to be considered as starting back in the NFL so when you say #1 we see it differently no he's not elite he's not special but he definitely can carry the rock do it at a very good level because his yards for carry are above the midpoint level there's a whole bunch of backs that have less than 4 yards per carry in this league....

I sorta think of him as a 1B. Not quite an everyday starter but better than most teams #2. Pair him with someone and I don't really care how the carries shake out from game to game.

Biggest obstacle for him has been injuries earlier on. Now that he seems healthy and the O line has a rebirth, it's coming together.

Everyone is so down on Rico, I think he's been adequate. Love that he's shifty, and can get you 4+ yards a carry

Hes been over 4ypc every game but week 1.

Its not his fault MM chose a stupid rotation forever.
