Like the confidence. Like his eagerness too. Now go out and prove it Rico. Let's see what ya got.

He will have his time in OTA's and mini camps. SWaim will be out with his jones fracture [if that is what it really was] in his foot. Hanna, we haven't heard about his knee recovery.
So Witten, he doesn't need that many reps in OTA's. So it is time for rico to show how he has and can improve.

So you got trash talked in pop warner football....dang, tough crowd....prepared you for this place....:muttley:

Haha
Nah I didn't talk trash till high school. If I said anything out of line in pop warner my Pops would run a hand across my lips so I didn't try it, but in high school he let me loose a little - to defend myself of course

(just read the direction of the question, oops. yes I heard trash talk in pop warner, kids where ruthless back then )

Just because he is 280 does not mean he is ready to be a short yardage player.

That takes being able to use leverage effectively, which is doubtful he has mastered in just a year after not playing organized football since junior high school.
Trust me; there's a reason he was playing some OT on the PS down the stretch; they've been working on his blocking, and a 280 lber even getting in the way ala Novachec is still hard to run around or through for a tackle. He doesn't have to pancake anyone.

Hey, it got rid of Brodney Pool.

Hahaha

In the context of the game I think its allowed in the rules, so its an allowable part of the competition to talk some trash...it my sound rude outside of a game but ingame, you hear all kinds of stuff on the field, so in that context its not arrogant at all. Players have to be mentally tough, and if you can get them over agresive you can use that to your advantage.

Once the game is over, its another thing. I've had guys come up and apologies after a game for things they said and I was like, no big deal.

I think because his strides are so long he looks like he is running slower than he actually is.

Maybe. Need to see him this year. Like Zeke said at his press conference when he was drafted. The more you know about the game, the more you can anticipate, the faster you play. He looked molasses slow to me last preseason.

That's because his speed fools the eye. Don't feel bad... There really isn't anyone alive that can follow his movements completely.

He's like a shadow in the night... but during the day. His spin move wasn't really even a spin. It just looked that way to the lay person.

As a re-bounder in BB, he probably knows leverage.

Surprised seeing so many pessimistic on this guy. You don't need to spend an elite pick on a tight end for him to be a good player. Many of the better tight ends around the league were not a premium draft pick.

Physically? He has everything you want now we just got to see if he picked up the mental aspect of the game.

Many aren't down on his physical gifts. They're down on him because he hasn't played football since high school.

It's not easy making that transition. And there is some reason for skepticism.

It seems he gets up the field to his land mark in time for the throw. But your right, all I saw was rubs and streaks, he needs to get the rest of the tree down/blocking schemes/H back assignments, etc...Here's hoping he does that all in due time..
